There's a large O ring between the alloy pump body and the steel distribution head.

People have done the job with the pump in situ but it's really better to remove the pump off the engine and mount it vertically in a vise because there's components like a pair of springs, small spacer washers and a bridge that goes over the fueling pin.. it's doable but better to remove the pump..

Dont be scared to do it, there'll be a video on youtube that will give you an idea of whats in there..

Thanks for the info. Now all I need to do is locate a seal. I've looked on this "wonderful" tool they call Google but keep finding everything but a Boche 0 460 404 065 injector pump kit. I've got one other store I can call.
Wonder if anyone has a Bosh manual?

The fortunate thing is that the o ring is the same for all bosch pumps that look alike.

Have you a local agricultural store that carry stocks of different o ring sizes? Fuel pump reconditioning shop?

I gave up on the Google search and went old school after finding a number for bosch head quarters (1-888-715-3616) and they supplied me with three different companies that supply diesel parts, two of which were in my state. I then contacted those two finding that both had a seal kit on hand.
Sometimes old school is the only way to go.
