    Heavy clutch

Hi, I'm experiencing an unnecessary heavy clutch on my 2006 Prado. It's been like that since purchase, and this was the only thing Toyota mentioned after the pre-purchase inspection. Is there anything I can do myself to improve this, given that I have little mechanical experience and...

    Is this puncture repairable?

All right, it's not a problem if I only have to replace this one tyre. It's replacing all 4 because of this I'm trying to avoid. Thanks for the input, really appreciate it. And about my location: I am from Norway, but I live down under. Hence the confusing profile info!

    Is this puncture repairable?

Hey, please have a look at the attached picture. It shows a small tear on the shoulder of the tread (Toyo Open Country A/T) - is this puncture repairable? I've found mixed information online, and thought I'd ask here. And if this is not repairable, do I have to replace only this tyre, two...

    Mongoose Entertainment System factory reset

Yep, could be the case but I test drove a Prado where the manual for the Mongoose unit was there and from memory it had the Toyota logo as well. Thought maybe that was an option from the factory here in Australia. I will contact Mongoose directly and ask them. Cheers!

    Mongoose Entertainment System factory reset

Hi, I've got a Mongoose entertainment system (with sat nav) in my 06 Prado GXL. It seems to be the one fitted by the factory but I am not able to find the actual model (. It's got some touch screen issues (sometimes does selections on it's own), it doesn't store my settings for long, radio...

    Land Cruiser research

Finally found myself a Land Cruiser. A while ago I decided to look for a 120 series Prado instead of the full size Cruiser, more car for the money and being just me and my wife it's got plenty of room. It will also be a daily driver (if I can get myself to sell my beloved STI.......), but either...

    OBD2 Bluetooth

It was able to give me the fault code causing a CEL in my Subaru once, so it should give you that (including the free version, I've never bought the full version of Torque). I even cleared the fault code using Torque, but that only works if whatever it is that caused still doesn't have an issue...

    OBD2 Bluetooth

I've got that same one for my Subaru and it works well, but remember that not all of those scanners are compatible with iPad. They recommend getting a Wifi-enabled OBD-2 scanner if you want to use it with your Apple device. This is because Apple - as per usual - want to go their own ways even...

    Prado KDJ120R vs KZJ120R

Hi, I need some advice. I'm still looking for a Prado around from 2003 - 2007, with a manual gearbox and turbo diesel. At the moment I've found two options: 1. 2003 GXL TD KZJ120R (5 speed manual, 188 000 kms) 2. 2007 GX TD KDJ120R (6 speed manual, 237 000 kms) The newer one is a bit more...

    Prado vs Land Cruiser

Thank you, that's the type of answer I was hoping for. Obviously a Prado will do us just fine, we don't even intend on pulling a camper around. My budget will now get me a newer car with less kms on it. I'll primarily try to find a manual turbo diesel, but a decent petrol engine will also be...

    Prado vs Land Cruiser

This has probably been discussed over and over, but I'm looking at buying my first Land Cruiser. For a while I have been looking for a full size Land Cruiser GXL 105 series from around 2000, but there are so many Prados on the road down here in Australia that I would be stupid not to at least...

    Land Cruiser research

I drove a 2005 GXL 4.2 TD around the block today, owned by a friend. A bit newer and over my budget, but what a machine! Gotta get myself one of these soon..

    Land Cruiser research

The troop carriers are definitely something, I see lots of them around! I notice that there are lots of automatic transmission and petrol engines around, but I have always preferred a manual gearbox over any automatic. It's more enjoyable to drive, and I would expect them to be more robust...

    Land Cruiser research

Would you look at that, joining has already started to pay off! Thanks, I've read a little bit about it and it seems like the 105 is the way to go (which was further confirmed here). I've got a fair bit of stuff on my plate at the moment, but I am hoping to find one of these after Christmas...
