Who is doing what maintenance today?

The 120 has been losing coolant recently, couldn't spot a leak anywhere, but at 214K everything looks like it could be suspect. Various write ups suggest that the water pump should have gone by now. So dug into the piggy bank and treated it to some shiny new bits. There are numerous articles on...

    Airbag light is on.

The seat position sensor sits underneath the seat, and is located close to the seat rails, it sends back information on the seat position on its forward and backward movement. I think Higgy mentions his sensor had faulty wiring, which is the more likely than a broken sensor, and is what was...

    Airbag light is on.

You have to check each wire from plug to sensor with a multimeter, there was no visible damage on any of the plugs or devices on my seat, however two of the wires were not conducting, broken somewhere in the loom.

    Airbag light is on.

Clever idea, that at least gives you a much narrowed down area to look for the fault, it has to be in the drivers seat. If I was looking I would haul out the seat and then you have access to all the devices underneath. Simply check every wire with a multimeter, from plug to device. There is an...

    Airbag light is on.

The problem with the airbag issue I had was that the broken wires would sometimes make a connection and the light would stay off for a day or two and then would come on again. This i lived with until MOT time and as its a fail had to find the fix. The light will come on when you turn on the...

    Airbag light is on.

Can agree with Higgy, the position sensor wiring under my passenger seat was broken, bit of a bind taking out the seat, but its the only way to get at the wiring properly.
