    Intermittent Acceleration D4d

Still haven't figured out the problem. Things around the turbo seem to be fine. Now that it is a bit colder here the problem seems to appear less frequently, but I have a new observation. When turning on the AC the issue appears almost immediately, turning it off it goes away in a couple of...

    Intermittent Acceleration D4d

Thanks, StarCruiser, yes I replaced the glow plugs, there are no spark plugs in this engine. I'll check the cable tomorrow. Meanwhile there were some suggestions it could be the Throttle Position Sensor or the Acceleration Pedal Position Sensor. Could these be influenced so much by the rising...

    Intermittent Acceleration D4d

No codes. I just cleaned the egr and replaced the spark plugs, the problem is still here. It again happens when the cars is warm and i.e. stayed under the sun.

    Intermittent Acceleration D4d

Help! An year ago there was something like intermittent acceleration on my 2001 D4d automatic Prado and the fix was SCVs. However this issue appeared again. I changed the SCVs again just in case, but its still the same. The acceleration hesitation and delay are most prominent when the car is...

    J90 D4D - Mounting an inclinometer

Super cool! Did you mount it directly on the dashboard with screws? And also how did you get to power it? I'll make a tutorial for the forum when I complete the exercise and of course will give you credit for the info :)

    J90 D4D - Mounting an inclinometer

Hi guys, I have a quick question if anyone has tried to mount an inclinometer/compass unit on a 90 Cruiser without one. My mod is 2001 VX 300 TDI / D4D engine. So..should i do anything else then power the unit /somehow/ if it fits the dashboard design? I found one really cheap.. :) Thanks!

Toyota colorado D4D Loss of Power On Drive Gear

I would also recommend to take a look at the Suction Control Valves - they deteriorate over time and get sticky. In my case when car was cool - less delay, when car runs hot - bigger and bigger delay before boost /normal take off actually/. A quick change fixed it and Cruiser is like new. Good luck!

Prado 90 Automatic transmission - delayed enagagement

One recent observation is that lag becomes greater when AC is on. Do you think that might have anything to do with the suction control valves? Turning of the AC makes car a bit snappier, however the problem is still there..

Prado 90 Automatic transmission - delayed enagagement

Small update.. Beau, thanks again! The mechanic said it has probably nothing to do with automatic box. Same behaviour after putting a foot on the gas pedal - goes to 1100-1120 rpm, thinks for a while and then the car launches. Same behaviour after hitting the gas pedal from zero, regardless of...

Prado 90 Automatic transmission - delayed enagagement

Thanks, Beau, I'll check that. One think that appears a bit strange to me is that car doesn't rev up, before launch - we are both sitting and waiting until power kicks in and rpms get higher and it has quite enough power after that. Could it be something totally different from autobox? A couple...

Prado 90 Automatic transmission - delayed enagagement

Well, external oil cooler sounds..cool:) Was it a diy project, are there any ready cooling kits for this job? Last, but not least - where did you put yours? Just saw a few mods and coolers were positioned in front of the main cooler lower right.

Prado 90 Automatic transmission - delayed enagagement

Hi Tonka, thanks for your reply. Filter was changed during fluid change. Shouldn't Prados have at oil cooler by default? I'll take into consideration things mentioned above.
