    Disc Brake Conversion for BJ40?

I'm pretty sure we still have a copy of the magazine in a box too. I particularly remember that trip because I was jealous of Ros overlanding with an old 40. I would've liked to have tagged along on that one. I'm building my 40 for similar travels; Morocco shake down next year (hopefully). These...

    Disc Brake Conversion for BJ40?

Rodger, I don't know if you've made the connection yet, but I believe that you were on Mudrut trip to the Pyrenees with your 40 several years ago. My other half was the photographer.

    Disc Brake Conversion for BJ40?

Hi Rodger, that would be great, thanks. I go to the UK a couple of time a year so that would be no bother. I was going to post something in the classifieds but as a 'new member' I don't appear to have the credentials to do that yet

    Disc Brake Conversion for BJ40?

Thanks Rodger. I used to drive a Series Land Rover with drums all round, and never had any issues stopping; they just need to be set up right. I need to buy all new brake components for the 40 anyway, so it makes sense to upgrade if I can do it at roughly the same cost. The trouble might be...

I get most of my parts my parts from cruiserworld.eu. Another good source this side of the pond is megastore4x4.pt.

Quick update. The gearbox is now in. It hasn't been rebuilt; it just came out so that I could replace flywheel, clutch, etc. Next up will be the axles, but it'll take me a few months before I get back to it.

    Disc Brake Conversion for BJ40?

Has anyone got experience converting a 40 to front disc brakes using Toyota parts? I believe I can do this using part from a 60 Series (so I'm in the hunt for a donor axle) but someone also mentioned that this might be possible using parts from a Hilux. I don't particularly want to use an...

    BJ40 Flywheel Torque Setting

I didn't loctite them, but that seems sensible given the uncertainty. I'll back them off and re-do. Thanks for your help; I really appreciate it.
