Who is doing what maintenance today?

Waxoyl was just about all we had to choose from at one time, unless you had spraying equipment the faff with blockages and heating the stuff up (on the mrs' stove when she wasn't looking) only to find it would block the pipe and or nozzle anyway, never again. I found the best way to apply waxoyl...

Who is doing what maintenance today?

Yes it probably was he, this was the first time i've used it as such, covered well and quickly. If you did that and nothing else, £30odd quid a year to keep the tin worm at bay seems a bargain.

Who is doing what maintenance today?

I'm filthy hot and bothered. Just crawled out from underneath having completed this year's rustproofing. Exhaust sprayed with galvanising paint. All the nooks and crannies sprayed with ACF50. Whole underside and chassis cavities with chain lube* Hand coated the chassis in marine grease, rear...

    Continuing site problems....

Another forum i use is running really slowly intermittently, so far no problems here for me. Could it be a general running down to er 'encourage' the spending out of large sums to get windows 11. Might seem like a conspiracy theory but when all the other conspiracy theories have come true......

Tyre test, an interesting alternative at an attractive price.

I looked at the Toyo A/T3, but they performed badly in wet braking and handling giving the longest wet braking distances of the tyres tested, i know you can't always go from testing alone but i want decent wet braking and handling, which to be fair the Yoko GO15 have been very good at, i'd have...

Tyre test, an interesting alternative at an attractive price.

Those Kumhos have disappeared from Camskill's listing in 265/65 x 17, bet the price is considerably higher if they relist,'' another bargain missed'', should have been Christened with that name.

Do I remove and keep the calipers upside-down when replacing brake fluid?

Bleed the brakes out by whatever method you prefer, it makes sense to have the pistons pushed as far back into their bores as possible, new pads is the obvious time to do this. If you were so minded you could jam the pistons fully closed which would see all but the smallest amount of old fluid...

    EGR Recall?

It would be interesting to know if, following the recall work, owners find they now have a manual method of triggering regen, which i believe later 150 series came with.

Tyre test, an interesting alternative at an attractive price.

That was the case some years ago Grimbo, but these days many AT's have the correct winter rating snowflake/mountain stamp. Yoko GO15 and the new 18, the Kumho 52s as mentioned in the OP, Falken Wildpeak and the new Vredestein ATs, i've seen several others too. have corrected my speeling of...

Tyre test, an interesting alternative at an attractive price.

https://www.tyrereviews.com/Tyre-Tests/The-BEST-All-Terrain-Tyre-for-2025.htm Jon at Tyrereviews has conducted a test of 5 AT tyres. Couple of things interested me, one of which was the tread depth of the Falken Wildpeak AT4W (which i haven't yet seen for sale from the usual sources), i wonder...

Who is doing what maintenance today?

The big difference is that when Toyota drop a clanger they usually very publicly own up to it and do their best to put it right, including sometimes the top honcho making very public apologies, then they typically offer long term extended warranties on the problems for vehicles that might have...

Who is doing what maintenance today?

Dropped the engine oil yesterday afternoon upon arriving home from work, engine hot the oil gushed out. Left it drain until mid morning today, inspected oil pick up which is thankfully clean as a whistle, refilled with Exol 10w40 Diesel specific semi synth, new Hengst filter. Some 2200 miles...

    Car insurance.

Ours renewed in January, with DL, both cars increased but after finding decent alternative quotes on MSE's comparison site a phone call to DLs excellent call centre soon had things back to reasonable. £286 this year.

Who is doing what maintenance today?

Excellent. For next time you could keep these two things in mind. There should be a small drain hole at the bottom of the oil filter housing, should be a small bore pipe below this hole which ends up very close to the sump drain plug, if you undo the filter a turn or two the oil inside should...
