Imagine you hate to see it go, but...Cha ching! That'll buy a few shiny bits and pieces Ben. Every job site I'm on, I get asked now, what engine is in that?? You'll have it rolling before too long.
Hi everyone, I'm eventually getting around to replacing the clutch on my 1UZFE powered LJ70 with R151F gearbox. I think it has the dreaded dual mass flywheel, but I haven't taken it apart yet. It shudders a bit on release, and increasingly slips under any kind of heavy throttle from 3rd on up. A...
Here's the group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/70serieslandcruiserowners/?hc_ref=SEARCH hopefully they can tell you everything you want to know. Cheers
With that low of kms I wouldn't think much could be wrong. A little rust isn't a big deal really, but would need to be treated to prevent spreading. The starter motor on those is very hard to replace, but that's all I can think of myself. I'd go on facebook and ask the landcruiser 70 australia...
I'm having trouble finding a remanufactured steering box for my LJ70 RHD UK model. Does anyone know if ones from any other models will fit? I see a 94 Prado one looks very similar if not identical, based solely on photos (e.g. guessing!)
I've sent three contact emails out to steering specialist...
Incredible amount of effort Ben, well done. I'm still trying to get the time to replace seals on my front axle! Though I want to drop the entire front axle and pull it out to clean and replace stuff, I might have to settle for a wire brush and some hammerite while it's in place. Good job again...
Yeah I figured someone here has had a similar situation. I definitely don't want to get arrested (who does, right?). Glad it worked out for you in the end, and if all else fails, at least I know it can be done in an emergency! (good idea with the wheelie bin). I hope I don't get in this...
Thank you Clive, lots of good ideas there. I was thinking if I rang the police more than about two or three times (would only take a week or less) they'd have a word with the council as well. I just need to get the ball rolling and contact them myself. I didn't want to make a fuss, and shifting...
I may do that if other measures fail. Our local paper loves stuff like this! They're often struggling for news other than the school sports results, part of the reason I like it here, generally very quiet!
Yes it's normally always someone different, that's the thing. Most of the locals know now a grumpy guy in a loud 4x4 lives back the alley and don't park in front :eusa-naughty:
That's what I need really! No clamping in Scotland, though that's fine with me too. I'd have to get permission from the shop in front, but they would probably be fine with it as they park back here sometimes too.
Ah right, so I can ring them to leave, but not to return, I've heard something similar elsewhere I think. THere have been a few times I was taking our little one to the doctors and someone was parked up, but fortunately had pulled away just as we were leaving. I don't think a lot of people...
