How not to recover a Seat stuck in the snow....!

Thanks Marius, those show me what I wanted to see. I see you got your fuel solenoids and pump mounted ok :icon-cool:

Yes Jon with the help from yourself and Ian it got mounted perfectly. Thanks again for all your help making the bracket for me.

Does it come off the turbo elbow like the standard exhaust or does he remove the elbow and take it from right off the turbo outlet? I'm having a go at building my own and coming right off the turbo so I'd love to see a picture of what a professional has done to get from the much wider than 3" turbo outlet down to the 3" pipe and then the routing of that till it's alongside the gearbox. Might save considerable head scratching for me

I can't remember offhand but I'll have a look Jon and reply with photos.

[Edit] Just seen the above - I'll have a look anyway and see if it's the same

That would be great thanks Lorin.

That's great thanks Marius. I think Lorin's will look the same as yours where it comes off the turbo but worth checking as he's offering :icon-cool:

Hope this helps.

Driving home on Sunday and we came across this Seat stuck in the snow:shock:..! The young lad asked for a "push" out despite Marius warning him that it would cause damage to his vehicle.:hand:=... but he wouldn't listen, so we went ahead... watch the video for the outcome :icon-surprised:! Adult viewing only due to the F word being repeated :laughing-rolling:!

Here is a short video of the rest of the rest of the lane and how we got past the stuck Seat and some more cars trying to come up the lane.

Diff lock not working :wtf: Thats not good. Didn't have them on my Jap import so fitted air lockers, so far not needed them often, but hoping they will be more reliable than the electric actuator type when I do.

That lane was closed until this afternoon. Still loads of snow on it. A car pranged into the big tree you passed at 2.28 on your vid and has been abandoned.
Farmer is going to collect it and hold it until he gets some payment for them damaging his fencing when they crashed.

The dam Diff Lock failed just when I need it to work the most but the front one pulled us out of the lane. I'll need some advice soon as how to fix it best.

Was at the beach racing a few years ago when a race van (Transit) got stuck and asked the course guy for a "nudge" to get him free - from the JCB that was on-site to build the ramps. Sad to say I did not have a camera to hand, but if you've ever seen anyone try to use a JCB bucket to nudge something, you can figure out the result - the entire back of the transit was twisted, effectively writing the vehicle off. Funny as hell if it wasn't your vehicle!!!

Like the videos Marius! BTW, was that the "F" word I thought I heard your "friend" mumble under his breath (a few times)? Maybe I was mistaken...

My rear locker was seized when I bought my 80. My kind local 4x4 repair shop repaired it for nothing (without explaining what was wrong) but I could see they'd had the actuator motor off.

They recommended using it at least once a week to keep it mobile. It's worked a treat ever since, 6 years on.

Are you sure the rear wasn't locked? My indicator lights have never shown the back or the front locking, but they both do for certain. The lights are very pretty flashing away, but I just ignore them...

and I wonder why emoticons never work when using Tippytaptalk HD on my iPad. It always works on the previous non-HD version.

My rear diff lock alway worked and I could always hear the load ping sound as the bolt engages and the light go's solid on but this time no sound from the bolt and I had problems with traction. The front diff lock worked perfectly and pulled us out of the lane.
