Any one do regular physical exercises, like every day or some thing?

I am fortunate to live opposite a beautiful park gardens.
In there is a dedicated free exercise area.

I go almost every day, for a minimum of an hour.

It gets quite busy, and folk start getting in there from around 05:30h, then it seems to half empty out again agound 10:00h.

They have some great apparatus for workouts, like reverse sit-up's

.
Or high bars, for doing pull-up's, up to your chin.

.
.
This one is for reverse cycling, works out the front muscles on your legs. Stand in the foot holds, hold your arms horizontal, don't hold the upright support bars.
(1).jpg
Just behind the bicycle thing is a pair of parrallel bars, no need explain what they are for, but shoulders get a good work out !
.
The right side, is where you sit on the round stool, and rotate it as far anti-clockwise, then as far clockwise, twists and flexes your body and neck, hold the bar infront of you, and twist as far in each direction, while the seat rotates with you.(5).jpg
Same image, the lower round one on the left, is where you stand on it, and rotate it left-right-left-right, which flexes and twists your hips, just using the bar to climb on and off, almost like dancing and jiving on the wooden turntable.
.
.
Then the rowing type machine, which acts against your body weight, as you pull the bar forward towards you, it results in lifting the seat that your sitting on.

.
.
Another good one is the hanging seats, where you sit in one of the seats, and push yourself away on an arc, works the legs hard.
the higher (shorter drop arms) are the hardest, because the ack is greater than the lowest seat. You have footplates for your feet to push against.

.
.
Stretching the ham muscles, get your leg on a high bar, good to be level with your shoulder. See many get their legs high as their head !

.
.
Another one where you sit on the outer ring, and hook your feet under the inner ring and lean back as far as you can, then pull yourself up again with stomach muscles.
(10).jpg
.
.
Some steel rings, where you can hold the rings tight, and invert your body, so your feet are vertical, let go, and crack your skull open !

That realy is a smart idea , kids love to show off thier physical prowess and moves they learnt while sat at a computer 24/7 , can't see myself participating but i would fully support any move to include such apparatus in British parks .

Great Idea Graham, unfortunately I can't see it being taken up in this country, apart from most being lazy b*stards it wouldn't be allowed on 'Elf & Safety' grounds.

Oh there is some superfit Chinese guys,
I see this one guy now and then, just rattle off 15 pull-up's, right up to his chin.
Then put his arms behind his head, and do more  so the pull up bar is behind his head at neck height. Amazing.

Mind you, he looks ex-army, and about 30 Y.O.

See this old woman now and then, she must be 70 if she's a day.
On the steel rings.

Sure, you can hurt yourself big time, I slipped off the pull up bar, and landed in a heap !
No damage, just pride.

That's a really good idea and would love to have something like that in our local park (which is just across the road from us). However there will be 2 major issues;

1. The equipment will get vandalised within the few days....
2. Health and Safety will deem them too dangerous, as someone might pull a muscle....

FFS. :x

I hear you Chadr , council put a nice little park down the road from me here in the Vale of Glamorgan , plenty of climbing frames and spinning things etc , i really was impressed by the effort .......................... 2 days it took the local kids to set it on fire . Its been repaired now but rarely do you see anyone in it unless parents visit with toddlers coz police believe anyone older than 5 must obviously be smoking and drinking and vandalizing the park . Sad thing is those who don't invariably end up following those who do to more secretive local hangouts coz they have nothing else to do .

they have got these in some parks over here already. If you go about 10 mile down the road from me to southchurch park Southend on sea they have an adult exercise area.

Health and safety, quite correct. Playing on burning equipment is extremely dangerous! And - should be banned!

Now then.

I know of 2 parks in North London with stuff like that in. Always busy with kids and people.
Should have more though...
