There's even some snow forecast for next week

If you'd like to be a few days ahead of the MET orrofice, check this weather model out (it's waaay cool)

http://earth.nullschool.net/#current/wind/surface/level/orthographic=-1.59,57.81,718

Note: you can zoom in, grab the globe and centralise it anywhere, click on "earth" for another menu, TPW is a good overlay "Total Precipitable Water" helps you see the likely fronts, you can also move forward in time up to 4 days.

This is the Stormsurf model, great animations of the jet stream model, goes out further in time.

Between the two of them you can get a good idea of the "big picture" coming weather systems over the longer range. (up to two weeks)

Brilliant, I've bookmarked that.

Like that Pumpy

We had a lousy journey back to the house yesterday, 5 hours of trouble free motoring, then the last 45 minutes (as it should have been) took us three and a half hours of stationary/as good as traffic.

Still, on the bright side, we came home to this....

A very wet January for by all accounts - back to sun in Feb! No sign of any really cold or even snow days :(

The good thing about the mild weather is they've not been caking the roads in salt. Might just get the bike out for a run.

Enjoy the ride TP!

Plenty of salt here, but I'm glad of it at the moment, TBH. It's bl00dy freeeeezing!

I guess -10 is not that unusual in your neck of the woods Clive. Over here we'd be at Defcon 4 with temps like that!

No, -10 isn't too unusual, but we've had it so mild lately it came as a shock.

I was in a T shirt on Christmas day, it was over 12 degrees and brilliant sunshine!
