Some amazing stuff on here.

Great stuff Frank I used to collect stuff like that whenever I found it in jumble sales or junk shops . I bet it all went in the bin when I emigrated with a broken leg and a change of clothes in a carrier bag :(

We used to make cartridge alarms when we were kids camping and playing soldiers just take the pellets out , I even got a teacher to help once by convincing him it was a quick release lead for a hunting dog

I don't think it's a catologue Chas. It's on my favourites list on my computer but I don't know where it came from. The site is updated so still run by somebody. I collect and restore such items but I've nothing as nice as what they advertise.

I think in France today they still leave the pellets in their alarms Shayne. lol.

Froment prototype electric motor from 1845. Can't be too many of them around…

It's beautiful
It is beautiful, I used to have an old wind up gramophone that was fitted in a cabinet with a lift up lid, the horn was inside pointing down, on the front was a flap that acted as a crude volume control, open it to increase close to lower the sound.
When the turntable mechanism finally failed I fitted modern equipment inside but left the cabinet original.

Yep, I'm in love too. It would look stunning next to the prototype electric motor…or is that just me? :shifty:

Well each to their own Rich! You are Mr electric, so it figures!

I'm a fan of wood, so most things made of wood with clearly a lot of skill and effort gone into it floats my boat, especially if it's old.

The horn on that Edison looks like a work of art, fabulous.
