    Does anyone remember this......?

Yep Chad , time does fly and it's the one truck I sold that I did think about from time to time. Funny how things turn out. I only found a note with the guy's number by chance whilst clearing out a filing cabinet of redundant paperwork and coincidently was visiting another forum member who...

    Does anyone remember this......?

Hi Ciderman. Yesterday was the first time I'd laid eyes on it since it drove away all those years ago. It obviously wasn't as it drove away that day. I think it is 2" lift OME springs and dampers with 285 75 16 Toyo Open Country tyres. This is what it looked like when I had it

You know what Karl, I'd have bet at least a pound you'd be the one that got it right. I bought it back yesterday. Nearly 17 years I had it, been away 11.

    Introduction

Welcome PJ As a regular green laner I'd say a 100 series might just be a bit big for serious stuff. Some of the lads on here came in 100's on the last club laning trip and did ok but some of the lanes I've done in my 80 would have suited a Colorado or Suzuki better. One upside is that there...

genuine 80 series front mud flaps without cut out.

ASAIK they don't exist. It was only the wider flare model that had them 95-96 on the model GS which didn't have sidesteps as factory. If any market had them besides the UK then it's something I don't know.

Transfer Case Issue with a 95 HDJ80 Manual Lemon Cruiser

VC was introduced when they upgraded the brakes and fitted 16" wheels ( and ABS) , probably sometime in 92.

To Do or Not To Do - Injectors

TBF H if it runs ok now I'd say little to no damage will have been done. From what you've told me the rattling is minimal, just on start up. I think piston damage would usually occur when it's chipped up to increase power and plenty has been asked of it.

    X force 75mm exhaust

Yes, looking at the price difference for the 80 series from Cybox to X Force I'm not surprised eveyone is going for the X Force. I can't see where a 100 series exhaust is £650 and an 80 series is £990 where the extra £340 come in labour and materials. BTW I fitted a Cybox to my 100 series and...

genuine 80 series front mud flaps without cut out.

Hi Felix. There is only 3 variations to my knowledge. 1) the type first used 1990-2 when they came as standard with 15" wheels and narrow arches/flares. ASAIK they all had sidesteps and a cut out to accommodate them. 2) The second type is the type fitted from 92 to the end of production with...

    Driving Land Cruisers

The other day I had cause to drive my 99 100 series GX 75 miles to drop it off for some work being done and drive the 120 back. I enjoyed the drive there in the Hundie , comfortable and easy, soft to a point. Driving the 120 back, I was in a much more precise place with just as much power in a...

    Transfer box enquiry

So, Bob, having a manual and an auto TB next to each other off the truck, the parts can be interchanged and a good working TB can be installed or is it a strip down job? many thanks for your reply.

    Transfer box enquiry

A friend of mine with a 300K really quite smart Collie is looking for a manual gearboxed transfer box in good condition. His is rattily but not jumping the chain (yet). I thought I'd read that the TB is different on manual and auto's and wondered if they were interchangeable with modification or...

I've some old doors you can look at to get the trims off, scuttle panel I think is part of the bodywork. Side badges I'm sure I have. I'm not quite sure what the front wiper cowls are, can you enlarge? I'll have a look over the next couple of days and let you know.

    Rear Arch to Quarter Brackets

It would appear that this is part of the flared arch and not available separately according to Amayama and Toyodiy unless anyone can tell differently. These corrode for fun and TBF I've never come across any in good condition. The complete arches are available from Amayama for about £122...

    FOR SALE

In fairness Car and Classic auction site is the way to go. LandCruisers seem to make good money there. Had a conversation last night with someone who had been to see one of these " premium" priced 250's with only 59 miles on it. Said it was quite something to drive but worth a £15k premium? Maybe not. Personally I said I wouldn't have paid a penny over list but there are a few out there for sale...

Coolant disappearing - Some white smoke

Agreed, I tried it on Maria's Ford Ka many years ago, don't think it lasted a fortnight before it was pressurising again and we scrapped it and got her a Yaris D4d which was totally reliable and pretty rust free all the time we had it. Personally I wouldn't put anything other than coolant in a...
