Well here it is my LC

Yes mate it's electro plating with a gold passivate in. It's been on my LR for a couple of years now and it's slightly lost the gold but no corrosion but it is no where near as good as galvanising. As for cost I get it done with work stuff so very very :eusa-shhh: cheap .

Well here it is my LC

Cheers Clive . That was my thinking i just thought i'd ask first. As for a winch yes at some point when the bank balance is a bit higher. It's a shame as i have a Warn 9.5 CTI in the garage but i wanted one to fit so you can't see it.

    Wiper linkage

I am after a part number for the wiper linkage on my 93 LC. I don't know if it comes as a complete linkage or you can just buy parts of it. Mine has broken the N/S aluminium casting that the spindle goes through so the wiper is all over the place. Better still if anybody has a second hand one...

    Petrol Land cruiser 80 series

It's definitely coming off don't worry I've seen first hand what extra damage they can cause. As for corrosion not a problem as it's made from stainless steel. Apparently they were a very expensive option from Toyota.

Just bought my first 80 series

Thanks again for the advice. What do you guys think about the aftermarket parts available for LC, I own a defender as well and most of the aftermarket parts available for them are crap (not that genuine are much better). I have been looking at milners for parts like the cv joint hub seals and...

Just bought my first 80 series

As soon as I get it home I'll get some pics up. As for the price after looking and trying to buy one for a month or so I thought I did ok yes it has a few more issues than I would have liked but the lack of rust was a big seller to me. I paid £3400 for it and I have looked at a lot worse cars...

Thank's guy's. As far as i know the guy tried the window switch on another LC and it worked on that so either broken wire or motor i think. I have been looking at the CDL switches they seem to be plentiful in the US but a bit rare and a lot more expensive over here. Lucky for me i'm going in a...

Just bought my first 80 series

Right just paid my deposit on a 1993 diesel LC. It does however have a few issue's most of which should be easy to sort out if a little expensive :wtf:. 1 O/S front window doesn't work, hopefully just the motor on the regulator as you can't hear anything in the door. 2 Axle diff locks don't...

    Petrol Land cruiser 80 series

Thanks for that Dom that is the sort of answer I was hoping for. Running costs are not as important as the condition of the car.
