Grant - Ive only just seen this - see my Dodgy oil post. I cant recommend the RockWatt Turbo enough - 28psi if you want it, boost from 900rpm - Ive just turned the fuel pump up one notch and its flying now.

Dodgy oil? This could be expensive.....

MOT Passed with an advisory on a loose wheel bearing (I'm so annoyed with myself for not noticing it, but its the corner that's difficult to get to in my garage - excuse sorted) Grant, Go get the Turbo! My Kevlar clutch is having a workout :grimacing: Boosting up to 28psi at full load -...

Part No. Request - oil pressure sender

Could somebody please advise the part number for a 1hd-t 12v oil sender? Roughtrax sell one that is list for the 1HDFTV 4.2 TD and says its compatible with HDJ78, HDJ79, HZJ78, HZJ79, HZJ105 with the 1HZ diesel engines from 9/2004 to 1/2007 but no mention of the the 1hd-t. 83520-35032 is the...

    Gearbox refill

Also, take care when tightening the nut - dont overtighten. A previous owner/mechanic did that to my gearbox and its split at the boss, if I go to far the case opens up and leaks oil - new box waiting to be fitted - one day!

Dodgy oil? This could be expensive.....

I took out and stripped injectors 1 and 2 last night - injector no.1 pin was solid within the tip - it took mole grips to get it out, that pin should slide smoothly under its own weight when held at 60°. Fortunately the top of the pin is still hardened and only used to locate into a cup seat...

    broken down, need assistance!

I had very similar - both alternator belts snapped (fairly new "gates" as well) - I couldnt work out why - fortunately I had the old ones in the boot, couldn't see a reason why (everything spun up fine) - so got on my merry way - about 80 miles later they went again and the alternator was...

Ahh sorry mate, not explaining well - I suspect it is the Injectors on cylinders 1 & 2 - I cracked off the high pressure pipe and no difference in engine tone, its running on 4 pots now - I know mechanically all is good in there, the pump is rebuilt and delivering at pressure to the injectors...

    OUCH!

This happened about 2 months ago on a pay and play site. I decided to wait until I heard the guy was ok - I am informed he is fine now - then I forgot to post. I know the previous owner, he put some good work into this, shame, it was a nice toy. They are strong but not invincible!

Its seen daylight - the first time in 9 months! Gave me chance to clean off the mud (it came back on a trailer with about 200Kg of mud on it!) Not all good news though, struck up from cold perfectly fine, but a misfire came in - it looks like cylinders 1 & 2 (no difference when I crack off...

Well I certainly wasn't expecting that!

Tough moment in life Chris but as you have the right mindset - onwards and upwards! The company I worked for about 7 years ago gave us the 1 hour notice and we cant afford to pay your salary for the past month - toodle oo! Left me right up the creek with no paddle. I went into business with a...

I think your on the right track Gav - either you caught the wheel and went a few teeth out or the motor is not giving full movement. I dont know the manual procedure but I just set the wheel so it cant turn any more to suit wether the motor was open or closed position (plug it in and watch it...

    On board water tank.

Assume its plastic Karl? In addition to the sterilisers mentioned above - fill it up and agitate the walls with a stick / brush see if you get any unwanted floating bits?

Another job ticked off the list last night - replaced the air compressor bearing as mine was getting a bit noisy. I figured that although the bearing is a little pricey at £45, I would happily pay twice that if stuck in the middle of nowwhere without my on-board air (I use the aircon pump for...

    Wheels Refurbed

I only read an article about TPMS the other day - the majority of those "in the know" with regard to tyre safety really do not like these external units as they remove a one of the safety features (e.g. the valve must be open to get the reader to work, therefore reliant on the cap staying in...

Having the snip on Friday slowed up the weekend activities - light duties only :flushed: Looking more like an engine now - inlet, injectors and feed pipes are on - note to others - make sure the tape you use for numbering the pipes stays on - I had 15mins of layout practice!

Cheers Mike, I missed that, comforting! I do rate Roughtrax as one of the better "bulk" suppliers, I think they do some decent research into the quality of their products.

I've just done mine ( post here). Mine was definitely cracking and had some "twist". Product Link from Roughtrax here. I've just written to Roughtrax about it with some feedback - in the main I think they do good homework and supply good products but the pulley I bought off them was not a...

A bit more done last night, water pump fitted, cam belt on, timing checked, turbo fitted, top cover on. The only thing that "bothered" me - I bought a new water pump and went for the AISIN one as its OEM - but look at the pic - there has been some grinding off and a sticker applied - it...

    Cracked from axle housing.

Hello Rob-O, I have done this - but I know how and when - it was during a sharp (read uncontrolled) steep decent into a big rut - I managed to twist the sector shaft of the steering box and rip off the axle mountings - I didnt know about the axle case mount until driving home, when it felt...
