Pre and post 93 sway bars

Can anyone tell me the main differences between the pre and post 93 sway? Is it just the link arms and bushes or the actual shape and routing on the vehicle? 4x4 works stock a heavy duty post 93 one, my wagon is July 92. Just trying to figure out if it’s possible to make it work. Cheers

Chassis Rust Removal -- Recommended Tools for Awkward Areas?

I like to do this with parts. I buy loads then stare at them for a month hoping they’ll get themselves on the car.

Chassis Rust Removal -- Recommended Tools for Awkward Areas?

I’ve been going through a similar process recently, spraying the odd bit and lano guarding as well. I’ve used a combo of a drill with wire wheel for tighter areas, angle grinder with a variety of attachments an orbital sander and the usual hand wire brushes etc. Angle grinder is aggressive...

    Poole Diesel?

‘92, 197k. Starts fine, idle revs are too low but any attempt to adjust sends it to either 600 or 1100rpm, no middle ground. Fuel filters just done and no to having checked the rest you’ve suggested. I’ve asked for a compression test on two separate occasions at separate garages and had no...

    Poole Diesel?

We are a bit thin on the ground down here. I’ve moved from Devon where I was spoilt for choice with decent 4x4 garages, I’m now spending an irrational amount of time on google maps hunting down smaller garages. I’m booked in for some work with LAR in June, I don’t particularly want to wait that...

    Poole Diesel?

Father in law is sort of that way so you never know!

    Poole Diesel?

I’m chasing a persistent low power and white smoke issue. One garage said it was head gasket, two others have said it’s not. I want to get the injectors serviced and a compression test to start with and go from there. Foot through the floor I’m at 40mph going uphill, not ideal.

    Poole Diesel?

Anyone down south used Poole diesel? I visited him and he was a bit of a d*ck but I’m willing to ignore that if his work is good. Mixed reviews from the few that I can find online, some say mark and avoid others say he does decent work. Any first hand experiences with Poole diesel or...

    Rear locker actuator removal

Am I missing something or is the locker actuator held on by the x4 10mm bolts on the flat piece of metal that marries to the diff? They are pretty hard to access and I’ve successfully stripped two which is a great start. Soaked them in the worlds allocation of WD40. Still getting nowhere, just...

    Rust Repairs and Respray

Fair enough. If he changes his mind or when he’s happy would you be able to PM me? It’s just a winner finding people who have worked on 80s that are local. I literally can’t find anyone. I’ve used trickett, good work but they were expensive. They went in for a really simple job on my wagon and...

    Rust Repairs and Respray

Local to Bournemouth? There’s three of us down this way with 80s and one of the guys has identical rust to yours and is currently hunting for someone to work on it. Is he doing it once off for you?

    Rock sliders

I’d say it’s down to personal preference. I wish I could say I’ve never needed rock sliders when I didn’t have them but I have unfortunately, and there’s times I’ve had them where I’ve been pretty grateful for the £600-800 spent. Plus the wife needs a step ladder to get in with after the lift so...

    Rock sliders

Those are nice but the price is eye watering and pre shipping and duties. I’m trying to get a fabricator to make some up for me, seems to be the only way of getting any at a reasonable price.

    Sway bar extended drop links/brackets

Getting to the sway bars now. They are in a sorry state, I’m genuinely tempted to just start buying entirely new suspension and steering components. Used the nolathane bushes (mixed reviews I know) but the drop link lower bush didn’t really seem to fit and actually bent the housing bracket...

    Sway bar extended drop links/brackets

Cheers for the feedback. I’ve done the front suspension today and will get to the back tomorrow. I have castor correction bushes but will need to do those at a later date when I can get someone to press them. Full arms would be the easiest option! Fulcrum do some lovely ones if I had the money...

    Sway bar extended drop links/brackets

Hey guys, I'm upgrading the 80s suspension, currently completely stock. Do I need to extend the drop links for the sway bar on a 2" lift? Wagons on 33s as well but toying with the idea of 35s. Thanks in advance.

    Radiator Replacement - Other jobs?

Hey guys, Mate and I were installing my winch today and looked at my radiator, its basically looks like the Grand Canyon with massive gaps, so that needs replacing. It's a '92 12V 1HDT, there's also an awful squealing for the first 2min the wagon fires up so I was planning on doing belts and...

Hey there, Looking for some advice. I have a 07/92 80 and my front brake backing plates are pretty much rotted away entirely.
