Coolant disappearing - Some white smoke

What was the air temperature when you started this? Did you heat up the engine for like 10s before turning the key? Mine had similar smoke at first start suirng winter before i changed to the new head. Does this smoke happen in subsequent starts during the day?

Coolant disappearing - Some white smoke

I tried the dye colour thing (basic one from ebay), but it didnt detect any co2. My theory is mine was not a full gasket blown or head crack and only slow leak, there wasn’t sufficient Co2? But that is just for mine though. As said, pressure test kit is the most convincing way for me, maybe...

Coolant disappearing - Some white smoke

Hi there, from reading your description above, there is at least either a head gasket issue or head issue. The very obvious one is the puff of smoke when the engine is warm – so coolant building up to temperature while driving from cold and pressure within the system rising, when engine is...

Thanks @MikeJak i did check that but there were 2 sizes. But anyway i have gone down the Roughtrax poly version. 26mm My old one was shot. It went through the rubber. I did all my steering rack bushes as well while the arb was removed. Not as easy as what YouTube videos suggested!

Low Coolant Level - Mod for reservoir bottle or even the rad itself?

@MisterCruiser if it needs top up 1.5litre, it is leaking somewhere. It probably make sense to find the source of the problem than fitting a sensor to tell you when coolant is low. When the engine warm up, is there any coolant in the expansion tank? If not then the rad cap is likely the...

According to Aussie youtubes etc. the 2.8 has been tuned to actually have a bit more power and torque to its V8 4.5 diesel counterpart. The V8 has been undertuned a lot to meet emissions etc, but this can be modded to give you much more power and torque. The wider front wheel track was done...

    Colorado glow plug change needed??

Hi Bob, hope you are well. I always thought that anything above 1 ohm is not good for glow plug, but the glow plugs I put in mine from NGK all have 1.4ohm new. https://www.sparkplugs.co.uk/ngk-glow-plug-y1013j-94288-3 See description within the table linked above.

    Colorado glow plug change needed??

Is your fuel filter plunger soft after you stop the engine? The one you pump to draw fuel from tank. Happened to mine few weeks ago (slow start cold or warm), turn out that i have a corroded fuel pipe on top of the tank.

    Colorado glow plug change needed??

Seems like the plugs are doing their job. The slow start, is it regardless of warm or cold engine?
  40. Aeroelastic

    Colorado glow plug change needed??

Check whether you have voltage going to the glow plug buzz bar when your ignition is turn on (not starting) when engine is cold. You should see 10-11v for 10 seconds or so. At least to make sure that voltage is being supplied to the plugs. Then further trouble shoot if this is ok.

    Is this normal?

So East Malaysia - I am from a small town Lawas next to Brunei. Part of Pan Borneo right? My auto usually shift to 3rd at 55mph (89km/h), then quickly shift into OD after that, with rpm dropping by 200 - the phantom gear change @AdventureWagon mentioned above.

    Is this normal?

Could be, I have an additional ATF cooler installed after the OEM radiator heat exchanger. ATF temperature warning never came on, if there is a pre warning from ECU then this should prevent a lot of ATF overheating. My fluid was not red (but not terrible) when drained. Anyway, will monitor...

Air in fuel line (from a new member)

Hi Mark & Claire, Not sure if you got your pick up changed? I have done mine recently, i can answer some of your questions: There is no pump in the tank, diesel works on vacuum from the fuel pump in the engine to “suck” fuel forward. For those little screw bolts holding the pick up unit to...
