How to remove front sway bar?

I'm not sure what you mean. The ends are connected to the sway bar links, and there are two rubber bushings that have to come off, but with all that disconnected the front sway bar still stis on top of the two torsion bars. So I'm not sure I understand how it can "come down", unless I'm not...

Land Cruiser 100 expansion valve caused havoc on vehicle and fuel economy

Hi, where exactly is that valve located in the dash? Do you have pics? What is the part number in case we need to order one? Thanks!

How to remove front sway bar?

Hi all, I want to replace my nasty old front sway bar with a new one but am not sure how to remove it without having to unbolt/drop the front ends of the torsion bars. With the front wheels removed is it possible to pull the sway bar through from one side to the other? Or will I have to drop...

An easy drain & refill of auto transmission fluid and now it won't upshift to overdrive.

Hmm... you may be right, in that I am only going by memory what I "think" the RPMs were at highway speeds, and maybe I'm remembering wrong. I've never owned a diesel before and it seems to me that this 1HD-FTE runs at a lot lower RPMs than, say, the 4.7L petrol engine would at the same speeds...

An easy drain & refill of auto transmission fluid and now it won't upshift to overdrive.

This is strange. I did a simple drain and refill (drain plug only - did not drop the pan) of my 1998 JDM LC100 VX (HDJ101K) and now it doesn't seem to want to up-shift into overdrive on the freeway. At 60-65 mph (~105 km/hr) I'm seeing 2100 RPM, when previously it was around 1400 RPM in that...

Cabin air filters for JDM 100 Series..?

Hi all, the cabin air filters that "should" work for this year & model don't fit and are much too long to fit into the filter slot. Does anyone know of a filter that would work for this model? I've got a 1998 JDM LC100 VX (Model: KG-HDJ101K-RNPGZ) and I've seen tutorials on the forums and on...

    What is this part?

Good question; I suppose I might be able to do that.

    What is this part?

Here are a couple more pics. The first pic is has an arrow showing the Forward direction towards the right front wheel, and the second pic is a bit further back showing how this "mystery pipe/hose" goes past one of the AHC globes.. So I'm still confused whether this is fuel, or part of the rear...

I'd never heard of it until now! Thanks! I'll check it out.

    What is this part?

Interesting - this is on the right hand side, somewhat forward, so it's well away from the fuel tank, but instead of the fuel filler pipe it could be the fuel line to the engine? Either way I'm having a devil of a time finding that parts diagram on the more commonly used parts sites. (Note...

    What is this part?

Hi all, does anyone know what this hose/pipe is for? I want to replace the rusty brackets holding it in place but can't seem to find this area or assembly on any of the parts sites like Ayama or Impex. If I knew what this hose/pipe was maybe I could find the bracket part numbers..

New owner of JDM 100 VX

Hi all, new member with a 1998 JDM Land Cruiser 100 VX. It's got 88k miles and has the 4.2L 1HD-FTE turbo diesel and is pretty much stock except for slightly larger rims/tires. So far I've only had to replace sagging hood struts which was a 60-second job for $20 struts off Amazon. It runs...
