    Blown 80, my Landcruiser story

I haven't visited my own 'garage' in a while it seems, only around 2 years.... How time flies. James-C, sorry I didn't reply back then, didn't even realise there was a question. Unfortunately the reason for revisiting this thread is because I've started ripping it all apart and starting...

Thought I'd make my own adventure trailer...

It looks like it shrunk in the rain Chris, but at least it looks like it'll never get hung up wherever you go. Some of the camper trailers here are the size of a caravan. Looking forward to seeing it opened up.

    Jokes

The Tax Department decides to audit Grandpa, and summons him to the their office. The Tax auditor was not surprised when Grandpa showed up with his attorney. The auditor said, ‘Well, sir, you have an extravagant lifestyle and no full-time employment, which you explain by saying that you win...

The 'I' in this story is not me...... Get a tissue ready for the tears of laughter. I went grocery shopping recently while not being altogether sure that said course of action was a wise one. You see, the previous evening I had prepared and consumed a massive quantity of my patented 'You're...

    Long distance visitor today

Ed, did I read that right.... You are taking a Landrover Discovery, all $500 worth, as the SUPPORT vehicle. Has on one of the motorbikes lost its stand leg and needs a stationary Disco to lean against?? :icon-biggrin: Im a little concerned about how you may end up strapping the tow rope from...

    Nissan Patrol 4.2

The Y60, or GQ as we refer to them, have a tough driveline but the body and fit and finish are standard poor Nissan. The diffs are quite strong but their weak point is at the narrow neck at the back of the swivel hub, so they are prone to bending there and causing excessive negative camber. Plus...

    Long distance visitor today

It's a terrible big boys lolly shop Andy. I might find something to accidentally drop in the box. Ed, please do call in, 600kms is literally next door. Where are you heading too, and if it involves 4WDing where is my invite? :icon-biggrin:

    Long distance visitor today

Oh gawd... I knew I should have done my hair... :icon-biggrin: Thank you Andy and Julie (for visiting not necessarily the pic). It was great to say hello. As Clive noted, this celeb status is getting hectic. The wheelie bin Julie asked for is organised. Cant believe I literally sold out on the...

    Long distance visitor today

I had a rather long distance visitor pop in today. The lovely Mrs Julie White of the Andy clan popped in for a surprise visit. Of course I took the opportunity for a quick wander around my 80 series. Julie even grabbed a happy snap. I should have done my hair.... :icon-biggrin: And then half an...

    Hand brake

They are a little longer Dave, to a precise length but essentially just longer. Our Dogbones brings the top of the shoes out a bit and gives the shoe more purchase on the drum when applied. And because they apply sooner, you don't have to reef the handle out of the floor to get it to hold...

    Wander With Me

Has anyone heard of or been in touch with Colby and Alita travelling the world in an old HJ47 Troopcarrier? I was fortunate enough to be referred by a company who they had contacted for parts and was able to have a quick email chat with Colby. They are currently in Talca, Chile and have a...

It is designated VDJ78 as a Troopcarrier model. Pit would have seen some hard miles, so worth going right through it if you plan to keep her long term. Things like new body mounts even will help tighten it up again, but check for chassis and body cracks. Have fun.

    New program starts again soon

Guys and gals, we have decided there is a need for some changes in what, how and where we present our 4WD show, so we are taking this opportunity to regroup and refresh what we have created already. We will be back with more very soon with a new program schedule and more freedom with what we...

Hercules (C-130) on an aircraft carrier? WTF

I was fortunate enough to get a few flights in a C130 and I can confirm when they hit the ground the brakes and reverse thrust is VERY effective. I'm sure it's how they worked out the brace position in crashes.

A blonde heard that baths in milk would make her beautiful. She left a note for her milkman to leave 25 gallons of milk. When the milkman read the note, he felt there must be a mistake. He thought she probably meant 2.5 gallons. So he knocked on the door to clarify the point. The blonde came...

The problem is still the fuel pump. It is a common problem and a good rebuild will solve the problem and running better as well if you choose a good pump rebuilder. Stuinbroome, pulling the plug isn't really fixing the problem though mate, just remover those symptoms and replaced them with...

    Engine conversion

Roscoros, the most common or popular V8 petrol conversion in Oz is the LS2 6.0L Chev petrol V8 motor. The next would be the 5.7L V8 LS1 and then maybe the older 5.0L V8 as a third option. Companies like Marks 4WD Adaptors can provide complete kits or whatever elements of a kit you want to...

Unfortunately not mate, not after Santa trialled Australia Post a few years back. Turned out the tinsel all got caught up in the little bike wheels and they had posties falling off their bikes all over the shop. Nothing makes a postie crankier than smashing his sack on the bitumen. I'll just wait.

Merry Christmas to all my Landcruiser friends

Blimey Mick, that's a decent shower. Its always a nice break from the 39degC & 95% humidity when you get the odd drop of rain up there. I still think they should have built a damn big water pipeline alongside the rail when they finally connected Adelaide to Darwin. We could do with a little...
