I'm still in for the re-make... I've spent the money, if it comes back it'll get earmarked for shoes  :hand:
Whatever I had on order (a grey 285 with pockets and logo I think... 'twas a long time ago :ugeek: ) but I'm happy to go with the flow on logos. If not available I'll follow the...
Only been on for about 2000miles and 6 weeks but so far so good. They are not doing LC stuff any more but concentrating on LR kit. I got them at a very special price from Frogs Island for that reason (they may still have some £20 ea +Value added theft back in Feb).
They're clearly a bought...
That's probably because most of us still have them sitting on the shelf
My intention is to mount it on the bulkhead or inner wing on the driver's side and contain it in a in a weatherproof box and grommet the cables - nothing fancy just a modified Tupperware or similar.
It will probably...
As I understand it they were a victim of the economic situation... strange the website still seems to work.
I'd not get too excited by them anyway. I had their 2" lift kit on my old auto 80 and they didn't last well. The shock were toast after 12000miles of roads and grassy fields...
Once you cut the paint back, it's important to get a sealer on as Mark says above. I'd suggest one of those coloured polishes as the red will continue to fade. The Toyo red of the era was about as colour fast as that red sock in with your best white shirt! There is an MR2 near us that's...
I had an auto and deliberately bought a manual when it needed replacing. It will depend for how much you can get the conversion done, but I would suggest it will not be worth it. The gain from the manual was possibly only 2mpg at best on a 12 valve.
If you want to drive mine I'll be passing...
There was a set of measurements on 'the other side' and it wasn't a great deal of adjustment required (something like 1.5mm per 25mm lift) which with the metric coarse thread and with your (and my) springs is about 2 and a half turns of the doo-dad. That is always assuming yours was where it...
Gav,
If none of the bidders second chance it then maybe as I shall be passing by your house on the way the the ferry towards the end of Aug.
I'll keep you posted. One of the bidders wanted to cut it about to go on a Hilux - that IS hard work.
All boy racers want the big whoosh sound  The wastegates usually and some dumps pass to the exhaust on nice quiet production systems to avoid the noise/comply with the regs.
As diesel don't do dumps it won't affect most of us, though I did see on ebay a device that you can add to make...
What KTM did you sell? £7000 says a late 990 and as you're looking at 'cruisers I'll guess an Adventure. Fine m/c. I have a 2003 950 Adv in the garage... finest two wheels I've owned.
Thanks Jon,
I'll give it a second chance offer to the next bidder and see what happens. Top tip  Don't accept bids from Romanians with 0 feedback
Turbos want as little gas resistance as possible so they can spin up quickly. If you have a large diameter behind the turbo it gives a lower pressure area in which to exhaust and that means less resistance means better performance and less lag.
The other reason is more petrol engine...
By that reasoning, there are various governments that will try to ban shoes as terrorists/drug dealers/rebels/insurgents all use walking as a method of transport :shhh: (At least we've changed our administration - the last lot would take that to a manifesto  )
I'll answer as many as I can (I got mine at Longlife Exhausts though...)
A straight through system will have silencers (unless you ask for none) but they will be expansion type silencers not baffle type. These are usually packed with a fibre material (glass etc) which damps the vibrations but...
Re: 105 Series TJM Type gone! Try this...
After messing around with the TJM for a while, it was clear it was going to be worthless and got the old Ebay (if the Romanian that won the auction ever pays up... )
So I took a different route. I spent today fitting the front bumper from...
Probably just a case of Toyota making it cheaper  for them   . Now they can do it in half and hour but charge 4 hours at MD rates :naughty:
I'm off to fit a winch and bumper....
No kidding on price
Slee have the big bar at $1600  There is a thread on Mud about them.
They are made in the US by Rigid and came out of their work for the US military. Their lights on Hummers have to be seen to be believed
I did this when I changed my axle oil seal. The wiper seal parts come in two halves except the neoprene/rubber ring. The felt and bolting face are two and overlap and the spring steel inner seal support has a split which goes at the top and is clamped by the seal the felt and outer metal...
From Canterbury there is Trident Trailers in Sittingbourne or Maidstone. Used to chaps in Maidstone and they were very helpful Everything from a small two wheel cargo trailer to a 3.5 tonne tilting plant trailer with sides and a winch. http://www.tridenttrailers.com/
Are you using paint or cans? I used the acrylic grey primer (suitable for bumpers and other plastic items) in a can, gloss black (not sure of the make up but compatible in a can), Red enamel model paint for the hat and clear cellulose in a can to cover. All from Halfords except the model paint.
Not white wheel, black wheel, black cap white Mexican hat.
White cars with white wheels is far too reminiscent of the XR3i Cabrio from the 80s :puke-right:
If the bar is bent it will be short but once adjusted it shouldn't change unless it's re-adjusted or re-bent
I would get the full alignment checked at a tyre place like Kwik-fit. They'll check it for free then charge labour to adjust and will probably have a go at straightening the...
Renate,
I'm not sure what you mean by re-beaded on the tyres, but it's a good idea to swap them front to rear etc at services just to even the wear. If the tracking is wrong it will show as increased wear on the front tyres at one or other edge or as feathering on the tread blocks. Inside wear...
A VFR is the machine for long distances. My highest daily was 825miles in 2002 on 2000 800(non VTEC), though 1800miles in 2 days and a long afternoon was another trip - dull, as it was the I15 from Southern Alberta to Vegas. Much more fun on the way back up the Route 93  .
My current...
The off road racers in Germany have been doing that jacking trick for years using a pair of axle stands. Relatively safe once up if you chock the other end (as we all do when lifting on a jack... :ugeek: ). More compact than axle stands but not as versatile.
I remember the article in LRO and all the other magazines at the time... There was a little more to it than just a tie down loop but KERRs are the scourge of any vehicle other than something armoured. Long ago in Off Road and 4 Wheel Drive mag (in black and white no less) there was a pic of an...
I'd clean the gauze. It is a fine mesh and will clean up well with care. Takes away a lot of the stuff you'll be flushing. Remember where the bolts go as they are different lengths.
Hello chaps,
Are the 'pigtail' recovery loops/towing eyes suitably rated for winch use?
As I'm in the area on the chassis, I will be getting some new bolts (8.8 grade min) but a bit longer to hold on some eyes as well as bumper mounts and the tow bar on the back. They'll also be long enough...
Prompted by another thread, here are the people I use for my powder coating needs...
I've seen all sorts down there from shop fittings to complete motorcycle frames. I shall be taking my bumpers there when they're finished modifying.
They're not done yet  I didn't wait for the call to say they're ready, but I'm due back in NI soon so thought I'd call in anyway...
I'm using a local company who do industrial and drop-in customer work called Custom Wytelynes Coatings in Chatham. I've had a few bits done by them...
...Currently attached to a 17' 3.5ton car trailer having done over 800 miles this week, 400 of which were towing. 24.7mpg unleashed 19.7mpg hitched and loaded (about £300 in diesel  ).
Took the 1 Tonne FC101" that I have owned for 16 years to its new owner :| .
Off to pick up my newly...
