Using mobile phones out of the UK- I'm confused.

I do use +44 myself as well. Tony or anyone. What about phoning the UK for a landline abroad? You cannot use +44 because there is not a + on a landline phone (I think)

    Hugh's fish fight

The Licensed Professional UK fisher men I know, OK only two boats, would fish the sea dry of all the fish they could to make a buck until there was nothing left without the law stopping them. I'm amazed people have only just noticed that over catched dead fish get dumped back in the sea. So...

    Dell Inspiron Duo

That was my idea to start with, but IMO the screen would be too small. I'm getting on quite well with my Asus Eee T101MT, I would have posted pictures by now but Pentagon Gps messed me around with my order for a ram mount so I still don't have it yet.

Thanks for all the advise, but I think we are far in excess of any training I have had. Do you carry a defibrillator as well? I remember how hard it was to decide if it was a shockable rhythm or not, not something to get wrong really

It seems you can even use an O2 PAYG Sim with a Thuaya Phone, unless I'm confused  http://travelabroad.o2-uktech.com/coverage.php and select the drop down for thuraya, then check out the rates for both contract and PAYG as see what you think? If correct it could be a cheap way of...

    Satellite Phone

There is a good chance it does work with some contract sims, Tonytone iirc said it worked with his orange sim although I don't have any idea of costs using one this way. A Google search Thuraya.com From Orange Switzerland, I cannot find anything on Orange UK so far.

    8th & 9th Jan laning in Wales

There is SPOT Messenger which maybe a cheaper option than a sat phone although it does not allow two way communication, it does do fancy tracking (for a fee) which is handy in it's own right. Another plus point is you don't have to know who to call and try and make yourself understood in a...
