Steering becoming a bit vague recently, especially noticeable offroad and on rutted snow on roads,
when driving in these situations the car can needs a lot of minor corrections with the steering wheel,
i.e. the car is turning slightly to one side or other, without the steering wheel being moved.

not noticeable on snow free dry roads.

got mrs to turn steering wheel from side to side, whilst i looked at the steering rack, its moving about 3mm or more.
didnt do this in the summer when i checked after the lift and had problems with vibration in driveline.

So new bushes required.
so where is best place to get them?
genuine toyota and rough cost?
milners? read stories of their bushes needing trimming? or cutting to fit?
do they last?

cheers
Andy

Hello Andy

IIRC Toyota don't sell just the bushes.

I fitted Milner ones on mine ~ 12 months ago, no problems with them so far.

3mm isn't much but will obviously get worse. Milner ones are fine. Seems that sometimes they need to be trimmed and sometimes not. Either way it's not a major issue.

Milner ones are fine, I have them on mine and no problems. I had to clean up a bit of machineing on the inside of one of them but no major issue just a bit of work with a file.
