Exciting news! I managed to pick up a 75 series free floating axle with disc brakes that should bolt straight up... Rebuild and fit pics to follow.

So in theory a 1kzt engine would fit in the RJ70... hmm, decisions...

Ben, any idea how long LJ is from firewall to bonnet lock?

Thanks Ben, most helpful. I measured the engine bay of both and the BJ70 is 1100mm exactly and the RJ70 is 1000mm from firewall to bonnet lock. I also measured the cabs as best I could and they are the same from inside front door to rear column so I'm pretty sure they are the same length...

Ditto, am in Oz, have 2 sets of these which you could have 1 of if willing to pay freight...

Hi Wout, it's a 3B engine with after market MTQ turbo. She's still a bit sluggish so am hoping to change out the engine to a 1HZ or 1kzt at some point in the future.

So far it appears that the rear will bolt straight up but the front is a no go. I can get the axles quite cheaply hence the desire to upgrade...
