J120 LC5 Jumping out of top gear

Hi All, since playing in the deep snow back in March, I have been getting an intermitant issue with the auto box either not going up to top gear or suddenly going into neutral from top gear. I have also had the engine light come on when I slow down to a stop, then it just goes out again. This...

    Annoying Vibration at 1500 RPM

Because the foam idea has proved itself to be flawed, therefore a more perminant fix was sort not only to resolve the issue but also to ensure that it never returns.

    Annoying Vibration at 1500 RPM

So glad you managed to fix the noise too, it's amazing how much more pleasurable it is to drive without that vibration going on.

Door check strap hits window runner causing a clunk noise.

Ok LC PPL, Following on from my annoying vibration fix, my next job is to resolve the issue of the door check strap catching on the window runner inside the door and also being clipped by the bottom edge of the window as it goes down. It would appear from some internet searching that this is a...

    Annoying Vibration at 1500 RPM

Ok, here it is, the final solution to that annoying vibration which is going to affect your Land Cruiser as some point and drive you nuts as well as embarrass you if you are trying to impress your passenger with how much better than a range rover your LC is. However before you begin this job...

    Annoying Vibration at 1500 RPM

Ok LC PPL, here is the answer you have all been waiting for. Firstly I took LC to Mansfield 4x4 and they did some test drives with sound monitors and located a loose front exhaust heat shield. They revomed it as the mounting points were corroded but when I took the car I still had the vibros...

    Annoying Vibration at 1500 RPM

Ok I found that the vibration only occures while the car is in gear at 1500 revs. So even if while moving I push stick to neutral and rev engine to 1500 there is no noise, pop it back in gear and it is back straight away at 1500 revs. So in the morning I am taking it to a Mansfield 4x4 so they...

    LC5 Sat Nav Camera connection

I have been right through all the menu options on the sat nav and there is nothing related to av inputs, so I think I will have to try connecting the camera to an old tv and car battery, check that works and then see if just connecting a live to the pin that the red wire connects to will cause...

    LC5 Sat Nav Camera connection

Hi, thanks for your reply, I thought it was going to be a simple job of plugging camera into the unit and providing power to the camera which would send a signal to switch the screen to the AV input. However I am now left wondering is there something else that needs to be set up on the unit or...

    LC5 Sat Nav Camera connection

Hi LCers, I bought a reversing camera, removed the sat nav unit, found a six pin socket in the back which matched the six slot plug that came with the camera. Pluged it in, connected the red cable to 12+ and black to earth but nothing happened. The thing is, should it just be as straight...

    Annoying Vibration at 1500 RPM

I will look in the light tomoz, cant believe those switches aren't illuminated, it has to something very simply but so hard to locate cause it only happens when the car is moving, you cant just rev the engine to hear it.

    Annoying Vibration at 1500 RPM

I spent a few hours driving round and round but still can't pinpoint that bloody vibration yet. I have another question though, is the power mirror control switch meant to illuminate?

    Annoying Vibration at 1500 RPM

Thank you for your advice, you are right now I think about it, the engine air intake does go through the right inner wing. One mod I just did today which is fantastic is to stick real leather over the silver centre dash trim either side of the clock to stop it reflecting in the windscreen.

    Annoying Vibration at 1500 RPM

The air intakes come from the front grill and travel through ducting in the bonnet. It seems to be too consistent at those revs to be a stone.
