Who is doing what maintenance today?

Nice! That’s my plan, thought I’d give the Eastwood stuff a try first and I think I’ll stick with it for the rest. I’ve done underneath the spare wheel carrier and up to the rear axle too, time consuming process but the rear quarter is the worst of it I think

Who is doing what maintenance today?

A job I’ve been meaning to do for a while! fortunately just surface rust so took the worst of it off with a grinder and wire wheel, painted with Eastwood rust encapsulator platinum then top coated with 2k Eastwood chassis black. First time using Eastwood products, the encapsulator went on very...

    Been busy....

Thanks it looks decent I’ve taken my OEM bumper off to clean up the rear crossmember, the support for the bumper has rusted out so would rather put money to a heavy duty bumper - that’s my excuse anyway

    Been busy....

Are those the bumpers that are for sale on eBay? been looking at rear bumpers but almost fell over when I saw the price of some online :anguished: but those ones look like a reasonable price in comparison

    Remote central locking reciever

I had some issues a while back with my central locking after heavy rain, then after a few days of dry weather it would fix itself. If you pop the bonnet in the top corners of the engine bay just below the bottom corners of the windscreen check for any debris, leaves twigs etc. Mine was all...

    Central Locking/Electrical Fault

Yeah it turned out to be a load of leaves/twigs/mud/dirt blocking the drainage channel on the top corner of the engine bay just below the windscreen. This was causing the water to build and leak down into the passenger side. Cleaned up yesterday and cleaned out the connector block and so far so...

    Central Locking/Electrical Fault

I have found what could potentially be the issue. Its on the passenger side JB the one with the fuse panel on in the footwell. There seems to be a few connectors that are corroded. I have had a look at the wiring diagram and it is connectors '2P'. I need to study/learn how to read the wiring...

    Central Locking/Electrical Fault

@jibberjabber Your right, after reading that post that makes sense and looking at the photos confirms that it is definitely that relay. I think I will leave it disconnected and not bother replacing with the info on here. Now to find the original problem :grinning:

    Central Locking/Electrical Fault

My bad, seems to be the heater matrix https://www.landcruiserclub.net/community/threads/reinstalling-air-pre-heater-matrix-help-please.146870/#post-1429513

    Central Locking/Electrical Fault

So had a bit of time today and did the checks you guys suggested. @jibberjabber the doors seemed to operate the interior lights normally (I think!) Do the front doors only operate the interior light above the 2 front seats & the door lights. Then the rear doors and tailgate operate both. @uHu...

    Central Locking/Electrical Fault

My trusty LC has recently developed a problem with the central locking. It is intermitent and occasionally goes back to normal but has more recently been consistent. I always use the key rather than the remote. The symptoms are: 1. Doors unlock with key, when a door is opened all the doors...

Wanted - Passenger front lower door hinge

Sorry haven't been on here for a while!! Well, the passenger door wasn't shutting right and seemed to be getting worse. After watching my missus open the door hundreds of times and just letting it open until it caught itself I was convinced one of the hinges had become bent. After much messing...

Thanks. I messaged the previous owner to see if he could help, suggested alarm system but tried this but no change. There's also a separate led for the alarm next to the gear stick. Will keep searching. Thanks
