Help Identifying IP Control for 1968 FJ40

Does anyone know what this knob is for? It is between the choke and hazard. I believe it has something to do with the 4WD? Cannot find information in my service manual. Will be ordering an owners manual.

    1968 FJ40 Interior Color

Thanks for the answers. I did see the stainless gray, looks close. Since I'm planning to paint the seat frames and backs, front bumper, rear bumperettes, side reflector housings and wheels, I think I's be better off with a quart. Figured numerous rattle cans would be very costly.

    1968 FJ40 Interior Color

Thanks for the info. I did see that, but $20 for the paint and $15 shipping bit me. If I can get a good scan of a piece I have, I can get a qt mixed for $35 locally. Otherwise will keep searching stores for standard rattle cans for something close.

    1968 FJ40 Interior Color

Looked at the local auto stores trying to get a close match for the gray/silver interior color, no luck. The piece I have would not scan reliably to have paint mixed. Does anyone have information on perhaps a duplicolor spray can that would be a close match? Or, if anyone has the interior...

    Is This Hardtop Bracket Correct?

Taking apart a 1968 FJ40, and I wonder if the bracket on the hard top is correct? It was bolted to the windshield frame with 4 bolts going from front to rear of the vehicle. There are threaded holes in the top of the windshield frame similar the the other top bolts throughout the rest of the...

    Help Identifying Parts

Thanks for your replies. The first photo part was mounted on the bit that swings out where the spare is usually mounted. It is actually a third rear door, you can see the large brackets for mounting it in the photo. The unidentified part was mounted just below the gas can. There was also...

    1968 FJ40 Part Suppliers

Here they are the day I brought it home. About half way disassembling it. Ordered the seals from SOR, difficult to believe, over $1000 and they charged for shipping. Not used to that on the other vehicle part suppliers I have used.

    Help Identifying Parts

These are on an FJ40 I just purchased: A friend suggested the bracket with the spring is for hooking canvass type sun shades on? The aluminuim bracket was bolted on the tailgate door, under where someone mounted a gas can holder where the spare tire should be, they mounted it on the side...

    1968 FJ40 Part Suppliers

I just purchased a 1968 FJ40 and starting to disassemble for restoration. I have not had any luck locating the window seal that hold the glass into the body. Don't want to remove them unless I can find new seals. Does anyone know suppliers for the seals?
