I cant source a drivers window regulator in South Africa apart from the dealer. Is anyone traveling to South Africa that would mind popping just the motor in there bag for me any time soon? If not i will have to get it shipped form the UK but the cost is the same as the motor.

Mine seems to have over heated on the brushes and melted the plastic so the brush dont not touch the copper ring anymore. I hope to be able to keep using the motor but need the black plastic top body part. Being in SA to ship a whole regulator over from rough trax etc makes it very expensive...

I only fitted mine that we bought in the group buy this year in Feb. I have used it quite a bit for pulling out trees but no recovery yet. We went direct to David but he did a better deal as there was a group buy. Perhaps ask if he will do the same again. Mine has sat in the box for many years...

Thanks Frank all back together apart from the clutch as i cant seem to get the gap right. I cant get a feeler gauge in there so its a bit of trial and error. Will bolt it all up this weekend and head off to get it tested and hopefully refilled.

Ok so i am done with only 2 questions. What should i do with the wires that came off the 24v solinoid. one was plugged into the solinoid and assume it was the trigger wire so can i just tape it off and the other was on +1 but not sure what it feeds but think its the change over relay???

It just means running another cable across for those fusible links when there is a perfectly good cable running from the alternator to the starter battery already. Only trying to keep it tidy but not running yet another cable across.

Paul Can you advise what the drain is from, from those 4 wires? The large feed from the alternator is connected to the starter battery so it can charge it when running, i want to connect those 4 wires to that. My concern is that to start those 4 wires will pull a charge from the battery but...

Dave i want to go to the positive lug on the alternator not the battery on the alternator side. My concern is to start the car it will draw power from the battery through the cable that once started will supply charge to the battery at the other end. Hope that makes sense.

To bring this back to life i have just put in a 12v starter and done all the wiring apart from the 4 wires that terminate on the one crimp that used to be on the drivers side positive shown in the below photo I want to know if rather than running a wire from the now passenger side starter...

Cheers Frank but my 1mm has come off the circumference of the nose and no the end not sure lock tight will fix that. I was thinking to shim it but lets wait and see.

My Bearing went which took out the retaining clip which took out the belt and in the process took 1mm off the shaft. If anyone has a buggered compressor lying around i only need the front cover. Let me know Thanks
