Another update, stopped working again, thinking maybe a faulty transponder so will get a new one and see what happens!

Gave a go cheers but didn’t do anything, but yeah all working again today so must have fixed itself lol nice one though

Never had any issue with the central locking before but went to unlock today and nothing, so grabbed the spare key also not working, replaced the batteries and still nothing, both will start the vehicle but not unlock via buttons, anyone had something similar? Thanks

Ended up deleting the rear heater as the pipes under the floor were leaking so mounted the compressor under the drivers seat

Maybe look for the same fault on a 3rd gen 4runner? hopefully should be more info being a more common U.S equivalent

Oh interesting,ideally would like it under the bonnet, will have a rummage! Yeah thinking this will probably be where it ends up, don’t like the idea of the noise in the cab but too lazy to run wires to the back lol

Maxxis wormdrive are an excellent tyre, more aggressive than the bfg at but less so than a mud terrain and still great on road, had them on a vitara, 4x4 granvia and even my trailer tent!

I use worm drive on my 4x4 van and on my last grand vitara green laner, they’re a bloody good tyre IMO, quite a bit better than the k02 is every scenario except looks but still a good looking tyre, quite aggressive for an a/t

I believe a discovery is a bloody close match for the width of an 80 so one of them modded could be a good way to go

Yeah that's always confused me, I would think you'd want the lower ratio to help pull the heavier weight of the lwb, maybe they expect it to be a motor that's driven more miles so better for motorways?

on my kzj70 my speedo massively under reads, running larger tyres (255 85 16) runs around 10 miles under actual speed getting a lot worse at higher speeds (70 mph is like 85+) surely it shouldn't be that bad with such a modest size increase? Also a side question for the super knowledgeable Ben...

The v6 diff is the same diff that comes in the rears of hilux surfs so is pretty easily sourced, the stock 4.88 is a funny thing as the pinion is slightly offset to one side so yep can't be used with after market gears,

Chop those arches out and stuff as big of a tyre as you can into them, the 80 springs will lift you up but articulation will be lacking and with a 4" lift these trucks can be a little unstable, keep it low with big treads and you'll have a monster that ain't afraid to side hill
