120 series won’t start

Hi all I’m having trouble starting Land Cruiser any help would be much appreciated

Did you try turning it off and on again?

Any more info, is it trying to start, is there just a click, smoke when trying, battery condition, etc. etc.

It was parked for about 6 years when I went to collect it I just primed it and it started got it home drained the diesel tank and put in new filter all it was doing is swinging but no fire , got it started the other day was running like a clock for the day and following day would not start again

as above check batteries - both of them - low voltage can trigger immobiliser

No batteries like sitting dead for 6 years!

I’m nearly 100% it’s not the immobiliser the red flashing key goes off when you put the key in the ignition

Smoke out back? If it's turning and not starting then there isn't a lot more than fuel or air.

I guess next step would be check manifold and injectors, turbo, vacuum lines etc. all this is made easier if you can get codes read. Are you able to do that?

There is diesel to the injector , i bypassed the fuel filter with a bottle of fuel the other day and got it started but the following day same problem and tried the bottle again and no go

I'm no expert but you could try giving the top of the fuel filter a few smacks and see if it takes off after that.

I'd be looking at fuel lines maybe the primer itself letting air in so fuel runs back to the tank , prime hell out of it and if it starts then you've found the issue .

Flashing key could possibly caused by a bent key . I can't actually remember the symptoms when it happened to my d4d 90 series and the key looked fine but failing to find any other fault i tried the spare key and bingo .

My brother had a similar problem his jaguar xf.
It would try to start but not fire.
We bypassed the fuel system up to the engine bay and sprayed with break cleaner directly into the airintake and started straight up.
We thought it was a battery issue so replaced.
The car was fine for about 2 weeks then just died again.
Same symptoms all over again.
We removed the fuel line from the filter coming from the tank to test the pressure from the pump.
We got a clear bottle and put the fuel line into it and cranked.
The fuel pressure was so low to feed the injectors but if listening to the pump it sounded fine as kicked in on start up.
We replaced the fuel pump with a second hand oem pump and never had a problem again.
Simple test removing the fuel feed line to test the pressure may solve you time and money and headache.
Replacing the battery gave us false hope s just gave the fuel pump a boost for a short time so worked as it should.
I agree with the other members it can't be much more than air or fuel.
The fact it starts means nothing major even if it don't start on other occasions.
