Yes. They are clearly busy so I can forgive the miscommunication but they want to be able to plig in an OBD and be told what the problem is.

Replace the O2 sensor? It was newly fitted with the exhaust.

I think youve got two people who dont know how to use the tester and are more interested in computers than mechanics . I would just book it into a garage 10 miles away and tell them you will have to wait there until you can drive home , that way the test should be done while the engine is still hot from getting there .

The local test station I take mine to told me last year that all MOT stations are to be monitored directly by the DVSA with new test equipment linked to them by the internet so test results can be seen in real time together with internet linked cameras to make sure testing staff are performing a full test correctly. I've no idea what timescale is on this but if sounds as if they want to remove any "discretion" on the part of the tester.

If you do run it on gas during the test.

Yes that is coming TP. Pendulum swung too far? Back in the 60's in the pub you could buy a pint of beer, pickled egg and an MOT certificate.
