Hi guys i am told by a mechanical friend of mine that on australian models without an EGR system
As is my own vehicle 2002 that the resistor diodes are in place to limit fuel and timing in 1st and 2nd gear to reduce emissions
It can be played with but the spill valve is a little like a relay and the contacts can only work so fast so if in my case you have a throttle controller and a chip in place the spill valve just pours it in at an unrealistic pace so i took my pedal controller out and turned the chip down once i put the water to air intercooler on and almost halved the soot and fuel usage whilst still going strong
Remember people with a diesel fuel does not equal cool in regards to power but normally excess fuel = high heat and exhaust temps and the tiny top mount oN the prado just wont do
My stage 2 turbo runs at about 300 on the EGT gauge And loves it
