Hi, I drive a 1999 Prado KZJ95 diesel.

I’m looking to replace my spill valve (SPV) with a brand new Denso unit (096600-0033).

Is the new unit at the right setting out of the box, ie is it just plug and play?

Or do I need to adjust the top adjustment screw to match the same position/setting as my old SPV?

Has anyone on here done a replacement with a new Denso unit?

Thank you!

Genuine Toyota would supply Denso i think and if it did come set then i would expect minimizing fuel consumption to be the standard while theres lots more power to be had by turning it up a little .

I turned the locknut adjust screw anticlockwise all the way down to zero and the truck still run fine but i wouldn't dare try to overtake . Turn it up in increments like 1 to 2 o'clock , too much you will get a smoky exhaust .

You can feel the difference on a test drive and its a very easy thing to adjust so once your satisfied your truck is up to power and that last clockwise turn didn't improve anything then turn it back and call it done .

Thanks Shayne, so I will install it as is, see how it runs and adjust from there.
