Just fitted 285/75 to the 80 and where the front bumper has been pushed back at some point in it's life the o/s/f tyre now rubs a lot on the bumper, can I adjust it somewhere or do I need to adjust it with a hammer or some kind?

Thought I'd better ask before I crawl underneath and get all filthy not know what I'm doing and break something.
Went for BFG Mud Terrains in the end if anyone was following my tyre thread last week. They look the business, haven't tested them out yet!

When i took the bumper of a couple of weeks ago there were 3 bolts that attach the bumper to each chassis rail, I think they are on the inside of each rail. If you loosen those you may have some adjustment there. If not seek assistance from a big hammer

Attach a steel cable (winch?) to aforesaid bent bumper attach other end to a substantial tree and reverse, but not too fast   and hang something over cable to stop broken windscreen

The bumper usually crimps where it's been bent inwards. You can try jacking it up under the crimp which might move it forwards a bit. Mine came out about 10mm when I tried.

Cheers

The bumper mounting brackets on an 80 are a bit rubbish so you might need to take them off to straighten or replace with new / custom stronger ones.

Thanks chaps! I want to get a proper front bumper eventually anyway so I might just bash away with a hammer, need to move it out by 15mm I think so that it clears at all levels of suspension travel.

FYI- If anyone around me if after new tyres, can't suggest going to AJS 4x4 Tyres enough in Kingswood. They are a landrover specialist but Andy the guy that runs and has been running it for 30 odd years is a Landcruiser man through and through. Very helpful guys and had a load of tyres in stock and where pretty much cheaper or as cheap as blackcircles plus they know what they are doing.
