Hi
Not sure if it helps but i had an 'intermittent problem when i first got my
80. I thought it was the fuel pump as the previous owner said he had gone
through the fuel system., but he had missed the tank. To make sure get the
back seats out and you can get into the tank and clean the crud from the
pick up tube. Solved mine but the symptoms were not exactly the same...
I thought the 80 had a 'get me home' safety system that's to do with the AT
box if there is a fault ? When mine was rebuilt it got stuck in this mode
and it was a single broken wire.. not exactly an engine management but a
safety system of some kind ?!
Cheers
Gareth

Hi
Haven't paid to much attention to this blog but both my 80 series needed there fuel tanks removing and cleaning! the crap in both was substantial - this in both cases resolved the loss of power problem. both 93/94 and both approaching 200k

Hi Clive,
The TPS on top of your injection pump may well be for the transmission ECU.
Unless yours is a very unusual variant it won't have an engine ECU. Either
way having the TPS incorrectly connected will cause problems.
IIRC John's car is a fairly early 80 so probably has the all hydraulic auto
box with no ECU?
All the best,

Hello the guys this remind me,
Today I passe MOT and they tell me my near side wheel is loose! Well I
go crank on it myself and wholy crap they is right, it is loose. So I
take off the wheel and get readys to tightens up the wheel bearing
roulement. Que merde! There is a driven hand "main meneuse" like on
my Range Rover! Well the front axles does float. So Einstein there is
no screw visible to adjuster.
So I musts take off the driven hand and find that big nuts behind it
to adjust my front wheel bearing. Do you have some archievs to tell me
how to do it?
