Areial stuck after battery disconnection

As the title really. The battery was disconnected and now when I turn the radio on the ariel only goes up 3", or 75mm, turn the radio off and it retracts. Have tried the CD player, it works fine. Is there a reset for this or has my areial broke as my mechanic is suggesting?

Might be a stupid solution but have you tried the aerial up and down button on the drivers side of the dash next tot the center diff lock button. One made to go up with the button it should retract on its own and go back up automatically when you turn the radio on and off.

Warren you are a life saver. Have just been out to the cruiser and found the button you refer to. I have pressed it and he-presto it works again. When I got the car it did not come with a handbook and I had not touched that button but the mechanic must have .
