Hi John,
There isn't a filter per se, but there is a grill on the oil pickup in the pan
that is worth periodically cleaning.

Where is this grill and how would I get at it, now remember I am not
transformed into know my cruier john not just yet but getting there.
I was looking at a list this morning and they were talking about the
different greese for the bearings and a different greese for the CV joint.
What would happen if you only used moly for the bearings and the CV.

Hi John,
It is in the pan/sump at the bottom of the gearbox.
Moly isn't so good at the higher temperatures you get with the wheel
bearings, so is likely to degrade quite rapidly. However some people do work
the other way around and use something like LM grease for wheel bearings and
the CVs, as we did last weekend with Renate's LC. This is a Lithium based
grease with a higher melting point than normal Moly.
If you have the money, splash out on a Haynes Manual - you can pick one up
from Amazon quite cheaply - have a look at:http://tinyurl.com/43n7a - that
should help give you a far better understanding of what is going on under
your vehicle.
