Auto Rumble

Hi folks, I ‘m on my second L/c in 24 years but my LC4 D4D auto which is on a 55 plate and has only covered 130k, gives the following when driven on some surfaces - a sound like driving over ‘rumble strips’ at 40-45mph in top - by moving it down a gear, the noise appears to go. ANY IDEAS, PLEASE?

Like a bus shuddering because it needs to drop a gear ?

Common diesel behavior i'd say , power is useless without torque . 40-45 is about when i change up from 3rd gear in a manual .
