Hello all,
Is any one planning to go to the Abenteuer-Allrad Show in Germany?
I am wondering if anybody would share his/her opinion about this event.

I went there in 2001 en-route to North Africa (as detour through Europe);
there was loads of good stuff there, but I only visited for a day - it was
good, and I enjoyed the experience, but I don't know what its like now.
Cheers

Hi
I went last year and thought it was excellent. Lots of LC stuff and very
well organised and friendly. Will go again this year hopefully. Last year we
flew and stayed b+b but there were loads of people camping and would do that
this year and have more of 'holiday'...
Cheers
Gareth

Hi all,
I just returned from the Bad Kissingen show and was greatly impressed
by what I saw. The event was well organised and offered a great deal
of information about the international overlanding scene (which in
Europe is ten times bigger than over here).
The show iteself is as big as the Billing show only very much focused
on travel instead of mud plugging and cammo culture.
Every imaginable Landcruiser variant was on display, from antique fire
engines to 200 FJ Cruisers and 200 series with camper bodies. Also,
the B-K show is the place to stock up on various overlanding hardware
and navigation instruments.
I have set my sights at the bigger toys and was quite attracted to
some offers, particularly the very new Iveco Daily 4x4, which looks
like a vialble alternative to the Unimog.
The camping area was a bit dissapointing (away from the show and
situated in the middle of a commercial estate in the town), but still
a great venue to meet with and chat to lots of people who have "been
there, done that".
I am sure it's worth considering a trip there next year, perhaps even
as an ELCO contingent.

I wish I'd known about this as I would definatley have made the trip. I
I'd be really keen to go next year, especially if others are interested. If
fuel keeps going up I might be flying though.

I'm thinking of going next year too, and I'll no doubt be flying out to the
nearest airport, since diesel is getting too expensive for me also - maybe
if a couple of us were flying out we could consider hiring a car?
I'm still modding l'beast, unfortunately it won't be ready for the next Bad
Kissingen show.
Any others out there that might be interested?

Glad you had an interesting and positive time - it's a while since I went to
the show, but am definitely thinking about it next year, although I won't be
taking l'beast (still doing it up)

I haven't thought about travel arrangements yet.
I suppose by taking the truck you get the option to camp which will save a
bit of cash on hotels and restaurants. Being in Yorkshire myself it would be
a bit of a drive, although taking the overnight ferry from Hull might work
out well.
For the benefit of anybody interested I've copied below Roman's post from
last year.
