THANKS!! Italian pump went south on the pressure washer. Replacement banjo bolt was 5 days away and cost 85.00 plus freight. Used stainless on the one we made............should last forever.

I wondered why the machining had a "grainy" look about it, stainless is a barsteward to work with, IME.

We made a rudder pivot for my brother's boat out of two sections of 2" dia marine grade, screwed together with a long buttress thread and locking nuts.

On first assembly, clean and greased, the damn thing locked up (some swarf had remained in the female end of the thread). What a nightmare that was, it just tore itself to pieces when the surfaces work-hardened.

Super sharp cutters and plenty of lube I guess, when machining...

Slow speed high pressure when drilling works well with stainless. Once work hardened it's a nightmare.
