After reading the forums on BEB's I can't see anything about which model years are affected and what are the symptoms, as a new owner of a 2001 100 with 106k on clock do I have to factor this in to my schedule of things to do.

As far as I'm aware NC, the 100s aren't affected as they have the 24 valve engine and the problem was with the BEBs on the 12 valve engine.

Hope this puts your mind at rest.

As Rich says really.

Although I have seen 100series with holes in the blocks plus 24 v 80s.

Don't know the reason behind it though. Poor maintaining maybe ??

isnt the 1hd-ft and 1hd-fte much more unlikely to suffer from BEB failure than the 1hd-t?
