Hey everyone.

I have a 1984 BJ42RV - MCQ

I have just started fixing her up after about a year of not running.
Step one get her running...
It’s not firing so I thought I’d throw in new glow plugs .

Here’s the problem I took one out to check part no and I discovered that the plugs are;

Vsp pt-141 14v
A quick google tells me these are for a 24v system. I’m in Australia and have a 12v battery. What’s wrong here? Or am I just dumb?

are these the part nrs you searched?

Yes those glowplugs are for a 24v engine. You need glowplugs that are rated at 10.5-12v. They should be readily available in Oz as the BJ42 was specifically aimed for that market - i.e.12v

Rodger

Thank you very much, previous owner must have put the wrong plugs in
