A while ago Tony and myself were walking around Outdoor world and could have spent a lot of money. There are a number of things I need as a shed load of things I "need".

For someone who last went camping as a boyscout (not very good mind you...), what is on the essential list, what would stop me going

I have:
[*]A 4 man tent (I like to call it a single man, 3 woman tent)
[*]A Jetboil for coffee
[*]A sleeping bag for said tent (the woman can keep each other warm)
[*]blowup mistress [Freudian slip] mattress
[*]kakhuis papier
[*]torch, lantern etc

Between Tony and I we will have the skottle for cooking some boerie breakfast, enough 5L bottles of water basic utensils etc, plenty of beer and biltong.

I also carry a rather rubberised credit card should the need arise.

Is there anything else I need that would makes thigns easier? I'm not talking about bringing the kitchen sink like some of you will... ;)

Biltong
Sharp knife
Cooking utensil (frying pan) for boerie fry-up
Paper plates (saves washing up)
Rubbish bag
Paper towels
Coldbox full of ice and cold drinks
Glass/mug for drinks
Pillow & towel
Fire extinguisher if you park anywhere near Chris

So ice is the thing I can't figure out. I don't want to buy a fridge, I have two cooler boxes, but how do I keep so ice on ice for Saturday evening...... Unless there is a petrol station nerby that sells ice?

...and here I thought this would be helpful

Sorry, forgot to add chair.

I have cappies, will remember to bring coke. Ice might be the problem. Tony's garage idea is good. (Can you buy ice at garages in the UK or is that a saffa thing? )

Andrew - I think Tony was talking about some marshmellows. You tiny comment would ruin it for him (must find a runs and hides smiley...)

My freezer make good ice,
No problem

Ice Man, , ,

Matches/Lighter or obviously a 9" grinder, something to fill the empty space where the three women should have been to stop the echo

Fill one cooler box with ice only. Then open as little as you need to. It should last till Sunday that way. Oh and yes you can buy it at petrol stations. But only the cubes not the big blocks like you get at home.
