I waslooking at a cig lighter splitter, so I could run a few things off
this. I was wondering does nay one know the story on these.
How much power does the cig lighter give out and is it really possible to
use a few things from the cig lighter. Is the fuse strong enough or can it
be replaced with a stronger one. Anyway as usual your thoughts on this
thanks

Hey JB,
I use a 4 way splitter for phone, Garmin, charge checker and Radar
detector. All with a total draw less than the fuse rating. So they are OK
but you can have fun finding a good place to mount it. Its a 2 handed job
to get them in and out as you can't really mount the adaptor firmly. In my
case I have to disconnect everything every time I park to get them out of
view of the car park vermin. For my cooler I installed a separate single
outlet wired direct with an in-line fuse. If you have one of those fancy
cubby things that my military 3 seater front row does not have, then you
can make a smart job of installing a panel with a good direct supply and
relevant fuses. I think you will find it well documented on 80scool,
possibly also on their webpage technical list too.

Hi there Jon
I was thinking of the four way splitter and then using it to power a small
heater and maybe some thing like two heated seat pads for the kids or maybe
two heated blankets for the kids. You see they are jealous because I have my
heated front seat and it takes the cruiser a long time to warm the blower
heater up. Now dont go start telling me its not that cold where I am
compared to real cold weather like you have there, where real men are men
and swim in the icy rivers just to cool down. All I will say is its just the
kids and the wife that feel the cold and Im sticking to that story. Would
this kind of use for the cig lighter blow up my cruiser, should I move on to
sheep skin undies for everyone instead. As usual you thoughts please.

John,
My thoughts are that it may cause acute itching.
What is wrong with conventional underwear?

Hi John,
May I suggest what you really need is a good preheater/parking heater?
