Clutch/Brake lock

I've never seen that make before, looks a good price, I bet the padlock would be almost that much on it's own!

Battery angle grinder through the brake peddle and slip it off? winch onto a Low loader?

It'd slow em down!

Probably very effective Chas.

Although a necessary evil, depending on location, I hate stuff like this.

It's another key to lose and another piece of rattly hardware to carry around.

I was thinling of getting one but I think a steering wheel lock would be more of a visual deterrent than something down in the footwell.

Funny you should say that Rich, I do have a rubber python in the passenger footwell. I bought it to give Julian V a fright, when I visited him I tied a cord round the snakes head sat it on the batteries under the bonnet with the other end of the cord attached to the bonnet and said Julian I can hear a funny hissing noise from the engine, you can imagine the rest, :icon-eek: unfortunately the cord came off the bonnet all I got was a smile from Julian.

I still remember these and these, and talking of snakes a family friend of ours has a business felling trees, every snake he finds/catches gets put in the cab of his pick up lose so it can escape if it wants to, needless to say no one is prepared to have anything to do with his Isuzu as word has spread of this habit, it's saved him from more than one hijacking attempt.

If I was to get them I would get some stickers to put on the side window stating you have them fitted.problem nowadays if they want your motor there having it,I remember fitting a thatcham 1 alarm years ago and all they did was arrive with a recovery truck and hyabed (think that's spelt right ) it on the back, from what a neighbor told him, they said I thought it must of been repossessed as it had it written on the side of the wagon.

Nothing will stop a determined thief so the goal is to deter the opportunist thief . If i was forced to leave my truck unattended overnight in a suspect area i think i would yank the starter motor plug in the hope that most of the car would still be there in the morning .

The most amusing security i ever seen on a car was just down the road from me , the shop owners son had a mint full monty black ford escort rs cosworth and somehow he had set it up with a proximity alarm so if anyone stepped within a metre of it flood lights mounted under the car would light the place up and Robocop would say in a very load voice "PLEASE STEP AWAY FROM THE VEHICLE" it was hilarious to see the reactions of innocent passers by when he occasionally just parked outside the shop at night time i assume because he had forgot something

That would probably have been a Clifford alarm I had one on my 80 until it went tits up.

It would be fun to have something similar but i can imagine getting arrested for arguing with my truck when it all went wrong

Arrested? I think they may just send men in white coats Shayne…[emoji4]

I've had 15 years of bliss here without a single incidence of anyone tampering with cars I've used or my truck.

It was incredible in the uk, think it worked out averaging 3 break-ins a year. :icon-rolleyes:

Time the techies (or maybe Trekkies) developed a force-field

A plumber I used to work with took his dog to work and kept it in his van. The dog decided to guard this van with his life but was a little short sighted.

One day the plumber came in with scratches and cuts all over his face. 'Crikey Colin what happened to you?' Someone said……'Dog wouldn't let me in the van' was his reply.

I'm still chuckling with a picture in my head of Shayne arguing with his truck, the truck having an annoying voice like Crighton from Red Dwarf and refusing to let him near it…[emoji23][emoji23]

Oh I can see it now Shayne……[emoji23][emoji23]
