Diesel knock - no Turbo pressure ?

2001 J95 with d4d kd1engine.
Noticed a few weeks back I started getting a bit of diesel knock, which intermittently just went away. However same time noticed a bit of lack of power and a bit of air / whine noise from turbo area.
Upon checking I'm getting only about 2psi, basicically no Turbo pressure.
Can the Turbo going bad lead to diesel knock? Or coincidentally injectors now also duff ?

Sounds like electrical problems to me , variable vane turbo not functioning correctly and messing up fueling which is also digitally controlled .

Could be just coked up with egr crap .
