Diff Guards

Does anyone know where I can get hold of diff guards and underbody
protection for my Colorado. Also, is the standard steering guard adequate
or should I really look to upgrade this?

Mark,
Unless you get something made you will have a problem in the UK.
France is a better bet for this stuff. There are no suppliers for
Toyota gear like this in the UK. Having said that you have mighty
diffs that will take a good bashing anyway. The steering guard is
personal choice. The underbody plate that you may have, mid chassis,
is plastic.
Regards, Clive.

Thanks Clive
I can see me having to have some plates made specially. Any ideas about
lifting kits etc or would this be France again?
Frogs island tell me they do some Colorado stuff and ther eis anice looking
vehicle shown on their site, but no items are listed.
Cheers, Mark

Mark,
To lift it up you only need to change the springs and shocks. Old
man emu do a good range of stuff for cruisers. I have done this with
my 80. Frogs island and Devon 4x4 are Two dealers that do this stuff.
If you ask you can get a list of springs made, along with reccomended
fitment and then scour the list for your choice, it will probably be
the same.
Regards, Clive.

Hi Clive
I've had a few emails through from frogs island today. They have sent me a
few pictures of various bits that they do, it looks quite interesting.
Eddie there says he drives a Colorado himself, which can only be a good
thing!
Cheers, Mark

Hi
I have recently had a huge amount of work done by TBR in Harwich.
As a fussy mechanic who just lacks Toyota knowledge and a functional
workshop, I can say they do a fantastic job. Their prices are good ( I
have compared them with their competition), and they treat your vehicle
as though it was their own, and the service is personal. I was most
impressed!!! Their HQ is in Germany and so they get a lot of their parts
from there, which is probably easier then trying to get them in the UK.
I would recommend a chat with them, at least for a quote.

Good luck
Graham.

Hi Graham,
I've just paid a visit to TBR's website and the prices of some of their
products seem to be a bit on the steep side for instance their storage
system for an 80's LC is L995 whereas a Frogs Island similar system is L464,
their Safari Snorkel is L250 Frogs Island was, from memory about L155 (plus
fitting charge) when I had them fit mine.

Hi Chas
I paid significantly less than the prices quoted on the website.
I have 2 parallel quotes - one from TBR and one from Frogs, items
generally come out the same cost, but in my limited experience TRB have
cheaper labour charges, and in my very limited experience far far better
service.
At the end we all make our own choices... ;-)
All the best
Graham.

I've had the TBR catalogue here before now and I thought their prices
were high as well.
