Disabling rear door alert

Hi Guys
I need advice. Had a bit of a bingle in my 21model Prado which gave the rear door a fair hiding. The door doesn’t now latch properly and the damn rear door beeper is going off it’s tits
Any advice on how I can disable it until it gets repaired?

Tape a bit of polystyrene or something on top of the button so its still pressed when door is closed .
