Hi John,
I looked into them, but short runs were coming to a couple of hundred
pounds so decided to leave it for the time being.
If someone else can find someone that will do it cheaper for say 100
car stickers (I can do the design) then I would be happy to sort them
out.

I have a colour laser printer and a guillotine (for paper that is, not disciplining the children), A4 colour transparency sheets are about 50p each, and each sheet would cut into 2 or 3 stickers. Add spray adhesive and you'd have a low-tech sticker that you could fix inside a window.
So if someone can come up with a design, 'cos I'm "artistically challenged" to the nth degree, I'm happy to do the printing. But I admit that it would be a relatively crude solution.

I have a laminating machine, so transparent waterproof covers can be applied.
Maybe we could start a little production line over lunch on the 20th !!!!!!!!

I won't be there I'm afraid, but I'm sure Postman Pat could deliver before then.
Laser transparency sheets are quite thick, about the same as 150g/m2 paper, so I don't think they'd need laminating. I have no idea how stable the toners would be in sunlight though, but given that they get cooked onto the sheets in the machine's "fuser" unit maybe they wouldn't be too bad.
Believe it or not work were - literally - throwing out the machine, which cost =A38k when new. They said I could have it if I could carry it, which was quite a challenge as it probably weighs as much as I do. So after half an hour of several of the country's top engineering brains (not!) pondering how to get it into the back of a Landcruiser, with one retiring injured, we finally figured out how to remove the base and get it in through the tailgate.
Getting it out all on my ownsome when I got home was "interesting", but at least I had gravity on my side. Then I had to get it back on its base. Of course I hadn't marked it beforehand, and there are four ways of fitting a squarish object onto a squarish base - so you can guess how many attempts it took!
So, have any artists out there got any ideas for a design?

OK, I'll come up with a design.
We could either do one long thin one a bit like the Countryside
Alliance ones - I guess about A4 folded in half from top to bottom or
do smaller circular ones (one square backgrounds).
I also do recall that you can get some plastic sheets to print on that
stick to glass in the same way as the tax disk holders do - just wipe
with damp cloth and apply - I'll try to look into it.

Laser printers + low temperature plastic =3D gummed up innards .... the fuser runs at well over 100 deg C.
If it is going to be laser-printed it has to be a material specifically suitable for the job. I'll ask in the stationery shop tomorrow.

You're probably right. I've printed out some photos with it but I haven't had it long enough to know how they'll react to sunlight, and I can't find any info about the UV resistance of the toners. I've asked the local shop to try to get me 20 sheets & we'll see what happens, but it's going to be a bit difficult finding UV light at this time of year ...
On the other hand at around 50p/time you pays your money and you takes your choice. And anyway aren't elderly Landcruisers more about "faded elegance" than "vibrant colour"? Mine, which gets washed about once a year, definitely is!
Incidentally I parked it next to a newish Disco with low profile tyres (!) today, and when I got back there was a gaggle of young gentlemen eyeing up both vehicles in an appraising sort of way, and I'd love to know what they were thinking.
