Engine oil

hi all,
What is the best engine to be used with the 1HD-FT engine?
10w40 i think, but are there any special needs or certain types to be used in conjunction with the BEB’s?

If I understand the history, the 12 valve was the engine with bearing issues, 24 valve escaped?

FWIW, I use Repsol 10/40 semi synth.
