Exhaust woes cont......

Thanks to Gareth for the supportive call. It was good to hear a friendly voice at the end of the phone when all the other calls were just plain trouble.
To recap exhaust does not fit and the best they can do is refund money but that leaves me with an exhaustless car....
The garage boys will be doing their thing tomorrow morning and have promised one way or another it will go on! Some cheeky metal work I expect.
So, I have been in touch with Frogs 4x4 to resolve the issues. It may be that they will offer me a substantial discount on my next purchase of shocks and springs as recompense for all the grief due to the exhaust not fitting. Have to say David the workshop guy was very helpful. The others were less encouraging but then maybe it will cost them more than they like to pay out to keep a customer and even more importantly a captive market happy? Reason for changing shocks is an advisory from the MOT. May as well go the whole hog and do it in style. So will be ordering the full set. If Froggies don't come up with the goods will take my =A3500 elsewhere. Any ideas??
All the best

Simon,
"If Froggies don't come up with the goods will take my =A3500 elsewhere. Any ideas??"
I suggest Devon 4X4, located near to South Molton in a lovely part of North Devon. I expect they can fit them as well.
Take a few days off work it is a great place to unwind. Huge sandy beach at Croyde, trips to Lundy Island - wonderful place to visit but a rough crossing.
BTW - I am not sponsored by the Devon tourist board.
Gareth.

Better off getting some cash back upfront, few pictures might help, there
must be a reason why one fitted and one didn't, perhaps Frogs 4x4 would like
to know what the variation was.

Hi Simon,
Yesterday I received a courtesy call from Frogs Island, a person called
Gerald (I think that was his name), asking if I was satisfied with my
exhaust, I was, but told him of your tales of woe He said he would look up
the records as to who had bought the last system and contact you, I assume
he did? Their web site states they give a full guarantee on all their work,
so hopefully you will get a fair deal from them.
I think it is Gerald who is in charge of the workshop, and JJ and David the
front desk, they are the two you first see behind the desk when you enter
the premises anyway.
Best of luck
Chas

Hi Chas
Gerald mentioned that he had spoken to you and commented that he was at a loss as to understand why the exhaust would not fit. The exhausts are made on a jig so they should all be the same? I am not so sure about this claim but will accept his word. Problem is that it won't fit!
I can imagine that there are people out there that would try it on to save a few pounds but frankly my time is worth far more than the =A3100 pound compensation I might get back from them!!! I have left work early twice and have not had a car since Tuesday. I have called them repeatedly and mailed them. All that for =A3100 is not a good deal when I am at work and supposed to be making money for my firm!
I am sending Gerald photos but they are not very clear.

All the best

I know someone who spent a lot of money @ Devon 4x4 and then had a lot
of trouble getting them to sort out serious problems with their work. I
think it took them 6 months to sort it out in the end...
