Finally got good cover !

Spent the last week trying to renew cover on my 80 and finally came up trumps with Chris Knott. Just finished my standard mods - 2" lift uprated suspension and brakes, extra 80 Ltr fuel tank etc - so my previous insurer Direct Line were not really interested. Adrian Flux wanted over £600 and 2gether couldnt cope with "business use" although mileage limited by me to 8K annually. As I am very old and have only 1 minor claim in last 3, clean licence etc and live in the country I was offered £345 by Paul at Chris Knott, which made me happy..

My experience was that even amongst the so-called specialist insurance firms, there are misunderstandings about LC mods and overland use versus offroad. It is well worth talking to a broker who has some knowledge or the dark arts.

One thing though.

Don't ever try & contact them on a saturday morning, i spent 45 mins on hold listening to " Your call is important to us we will connect you with the first available assistant " Yeh right
